I worked at Gate Petroleum part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Gave bonus checks every quarter and get to meet a lot of nice people. The job is always busy witch makes the time go by.

    Cons

Doesn't give breaks unless its to go to the bathroom. No cell phones what so ever and if caught you will be terminated on the spot!

I worked at Gate Petroleum full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They work with your hours and times you need off. They're really good about vacations (although if you haven't been there long then it won't be paid) lots of free shirts and jackets to wear provided by the company.

    Cons

Store managers and assistant managers are a joke. They don't care about their employees. They'd rather talk behind your back then say what needs to be said to your face. Which was really unfortunate. Because it really isn't a bad job. Also, you don't get any breaks and aren't really allowed to sit down even to eat. Also they don't offer any employee discounts on food. Only unlimited free drinks while you're working.

    Advice to Management

Care more about the employees. Address issues, even if they seem minor. Don't leave your employees wondering if they're going to get fired because of a rumor. And actually listen. Also, breaks would be nice. I worked there for a while but my feet never got used to standing all day. Always came home throbbing and swollen. And I'm only 20.

I worked at Gate Petroleum (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not overly picky about people they hire. Hired me with employment gaps.

    Cons

10 hour shifts with no breaks. Favoritism. Will suspend employees to appease customers even if customer is wrong.

    Advice to Management

need to better oversee store managers. Employees need better options to reach higher management when their supervisor is being unfair or not following company policy.

I worked at Gate Petroleum part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the fact that i was "hired" was my only positive

    Cons

Was fired my first day of training because i supposedly lied on my application. stupid manager waited until right before my shift to call me and tell me not to come in (give notice you stupid idiots!!) contacted headquarters about what i lied about and they ignored my call and didnt call back after i left voicemail. never apply or try to work at GATE they treat you like a peasant!

    Advice to Management

learn to use your stupid little pea brains and contact someone prior to their first day of work oh and dont tell someone they lied on their applicaion if you dont even have the decency to explain what was lied about

I worked at Gate Petroleum full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You never work alone in the stores which makes getting robbed less likely

    Cons

Store Managers have to work 6 days a week and only allowed 1 weekend off a month and only if your store has good audits. Supervisors are supposed to offer support but do not from the outside looking in great company from inside looking out awful.

    Advice to Management

Dont work for Gate there is no growth and no profit sharing any longer also the bonuses are a joke

I worked at Gate Petroleum part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was low-stress. There are several opportunities to move up. There are lots of nuances but they're easy as you get more experienced.

    Cons

Low wage positions. In about 3 years, one received 3 raises in increments of .30 cents.

    Advice to Management

We should receive a higher minimum wage for example $10.10. And we should receive more better raises and benefits for part-time and full-time workers.
