Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI have been working at Gateway Charter School full-time
Pros
Lots of resources, supplied with great computer software, freedom to instruct anyway you want, but you're also 100% on your own.
Cons
Not enough time to teach 27 kids. Management is full of women who do not empower each other, but rather tear each other down.

Doesn't RecommendI worked at Gateway Charter School
Pros
They gave away free spirit shirts. They help personnel that have problems finding a place to live. They help personnel get free lunch for a limited time at the school.
Cons
They assured new hires that there would be two weeks of training, but crammed two weeks of training into 3 days. People that believed this false assurance left their prior jobs ealier to be present for the training. This dishonesty and deception caused a financial inconvenience, and it set the tone for the beginning of the school year. It also had a domino and snowball effect. The hiring contract says staff would get paid on the 15th and 1st, but new hires did not get paid August 31st. They (veteran instructional personnel) rushed through vitally important information for successful staff employment. Other personnel gossip about one another and recommend that people be terminated. Due to the fact that these personnel have their children at the school their gossip and recommendations are highly regarded. Staff talk trash about each other. If administration does not like a staff member then other members show a deliberate reluctance to support the new hire with curriculum, lesson plan templates, reading running records, chalk.com, and other things. They also demonstrate verbal aggression. If this happens to you, submit your two weeks notice ASAP. Keep yourself protected from termination.
