I have been working at Geek Squad full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great if you're into learning different technology. They teach great techniques on how to repair and install most common issues in regards to appliances and various home theater products. Awesome discount Good if you don't like to stay in a store or office all the time Very relaxed most of the time Most managers and co workers are cool Great for networking Vacation and sick time easily accumulate

    Cons

Stress of meeting number or set goals Clients can be rude or attempt to get over at times No certain clock out time, it's whenever you're jobs are finished for the day or dependant upon the client Some clients houses aren't clean

    Advice to Management

My boss is great. She is very understanding and reasonable. Upper management is out of touch when it comes to some situations.

I have been working at Geek Squad part-time

    Pros

Better pay than most store employees with less stress

    Cons

Hours are all over the place. Even part time I usually punch more than 32 every week during the winter, and there will be some weeks I don't work in the summer.

    Advice to Management

Cadets work just as hard as agents and deserve equal pay and benefits

I have been working at Geek Squad full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I like to be able to move around on the job, and meet new people everyday. Always a surprise around every corner.

    Cons

When there isn't work to do, there is no guarantee that you get a full check. Also, communication between the install teams and sales rep is almost non existent.

    Advice to Management

when times are slow, create other opportunities for workers to get hours, so that their full time status is used.

I have been working at Geek Squad

    Pros

Good work schedule, out and about in the field. Drive in company vehicle, given all the necessary tools, plenty of training available via online site.

    Cons

Pay sucks for the type of work being performed. Involuntarily given days off when there are no jobs, workmanship is judged by numbers that sometimes do not reflect the effort given.

    Advice to Management

keep employees happy by giving them respectable raises. Physically teach employees how to become better rather than sit behind a computer and send emails on how to accomplish that.

I worked at Geek Squad full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Worked on the HT side of Geek Squad. Pay was decent starting off and can be a great job or career depending on how far you want to go. Coworkers were great, everyone is willing to lend a hand or provide info. My manager at the time was very informative and helpful. You get to work with the latest and greatest. And you learn about things you can carry on for life. You typically work till the job is done. Some days are...

I worked at Geek Squad full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Getting the chance to install merchandise for clients to enjoy. Being out on your own to problem solve. If the client has had a less than happy experience at the store level you have a chance to change that perception. You are issued a Vehicle, Laptop and a cellphone.

    Cons

Not having a consistent amount of hours. There were week that I would not have had enough hours to be at 32 hrs. That is the minimum to remain full time. I had to use up PTO or Vacation time to get to that minimum. Other times you might have too many hours? Like a lot of places there can be a large amount of favoritism. This is important during review time! Large pay scale differences You can no longer take your vehicle...

    Advice to Management

Be more aware of what each employee is needing from you to grow. Being out on site in a home can be an organic situation.Understand that the employees that do the work for you are real people and have a life outside this job.

I worked at Geek Squad full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

You are your own supervisor in essence as all calls are at remote locations (not in store), early shifts means you get out sooner, and I suppose the employee discount is decent.

    Cons

Management is terrible, they are all employees who benefit from relationships with employees in higher positions. No equal hiring process and a candidate is already chosen before the interview process begins.

    Advice to Management

BE AWARE OF LEADERSHIP. They are incompetent, disrespectful, and only looking after their best interests.
