      Pros

      Great shoe-in to the IT field. You learn the core necessities to being able to confidently troubleshoot and repair computer devices.

      Cons

      Like all of retail, client base can be hit or miss. Save for one or two holidays, be prepared to work when others may have the day off.

      Pros

      - Benefits (Employee Discount, Medical, Vision, 401K, etc.) - Culture was positive

      Cons

      - Working on major Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Years, etc.) - Best Buy ultimately decides everything for Geek Squad - Geek Squad saved Best Buy, but it feels like our culture is being dissolved.

      Advice to Management

      Geek Squad itself it is fine. I believe Best Buy management needs better training and understanding on the standards that Geek Squad obtains, and wants to keep. Many times while working there I would have the Assistant or General Manager walk back there and act like he knew what needs to be done and cause a chaotic mess to occur, stressing everyone out. Educate yourself before acting on it, with limit knowledge. Thanks!

      Pros

      Great position to get some technical troubleshooting experience. You can learn a lot about PC repair if you apply yourself towards finding the best solution instead of the easiest.

      Cons

      Hours depend on how many repairs you've had in previous weeks, which fluctuates. Can get very disorganized with sudden influxes in repairs after hours were cut from lack of repairs. Dealing with apple for iphone repair issues is awful.

      *Great entry level spot (Tier 1 support at other companies love snagging up Geeks) *Impossible to get fired

      Cons

      View cons under the context of this being at a larger location. *suffer from lack of labor hours allocated to both front and back areas *workload is ridiculous for repair agents *training entirely depended on current staff, standardized training nonexistent *Leadership not always trained sufficiently *Impossible to get fired *employees arent valued. You may find that as a tenured agent (3.5 years) you make the same...

      Pros

      You get to work with your hands and get to fix problems by yourself. You learn as you go and have a lot of fun doing it.

      Cons

      The management does not support you when you make a decision dealing with a customer problem that was created from the sales floor. Poor communication with management.

      Advice to Management

      Take ownership of your terrible sales staff and don't take it out on the autotechs. They are far and between, so keep pushing us out and you will regret it.
