I have been working at Geek Squad part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team environment, learn a lot of useful skills, great communication skills, in house training, looks great on a resume and companies seem to like it.

    Cons

I have worked at multiple locations and I have to say, my happiness at this job has been dictated by what store I was at. That being said, the job itself is wonderful and I would recommend it as a stepping stone to anyone looking to get into the IT field.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging employees and entrust our skills and duties to us individually. Hire previous Geek Squad employees as managers and not just any person that has "done their time" with Best Buy.

Culture is fun, work is easy, benefits are great, hours are great, absolutely loads of paid training provided for all roles.

    Pros

Flexible schedule as a part timer. Bachelor degree reimbursements as a full timer. Accommodations on products sold by Best Buy. Encouraged to always pursue a better career, in the company or outside. Partnership with great companies such as Apple and Lenovo.

    Cons

Management is always changing. Inconsistent schedules. Not challenging work. Miscommunication.

    Advice to Management

Better training of DCI and Supervisors. It helps when a superior can push the sale, but it is a hindrance when company policies don't allow to meet client expectations.
