I worked at Geisinger Health System full-time

    Pros

Hours, no evenings, weekends or holidays
Benefits , 401k, vacation time if approved

    Cons

Poor management, cliques and bullying aloud. High turn around.
Go to HR and nothing gets done. Review copied from previous year and date changed.

    Advice to Management

Upper management open up your eyes tried to speak to you and you didn't have time. I was told to start with HR and the same things are still going on .

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Geisinger Health System (More than 8 years)

    Pros

New CEO shows real promise. Left before he came onboard. Whole system needs restructuring and professional ethics instituted. Great employees and middle managers stuck in a toxic work environment specifically in marketing/PR Department.

    Cons

Lack of industry knowledge at a basic level in marketing/advertising. CCO should be marketing director at best. Lacks leadership skills and integrity. High school atmosphere of leader pitting managers against each other. Team - and even directors and managers - are powerless to make their own decisions. Micro-management prohibits job fulfillment and very high turnover of the best and brightest is the result.

    Advice to Management

Checks and balances need to be implemented. Having one person holding all the power in a department of 50+ employees means no department direction and bureaucracy at every level. Employees either put their heads down and collect their paychecks or leave the system to find career fulfillment (like myself) elsewhere.

I worked at Geisinger Health System (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy, brainless work. Coworkers are catty, which can be entertaining in an otherwise borring job

    Cons

Horrible management, hard to get time off when needed

    Advice to Management

You all need to take a chill pill and relax

    Pros

The pay is great and the benefits are affordable. I like that you get incentive bonuses also.

    Cons

People are backstabbers and its like high school al over again.

    Advice to Management

I think management needs to take responsiblity for the action of all employees and not just certain ones.

I worked at Geisinger Health System part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most of your coworkers are friendly and easy to get along with

    Cons

Management isn't great. There is little training on how to do your job, and it was often difficult to figure out what I was supposed to do. Just not a proper amount of communication about what was expected of me. Since the work isn't lab-oriented, it isn't really valuable as a stepping stone to a better job either.
