    I worked at Gemma Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Hours are good. Steady hours. Sales will get you better incentives and personal time.

    Cons

    Management not organized. You are only paid for the time you are connected to phone queue. So you have to limit your bathroom breaks and any break.

    Advice to Management

    Agents need more incentives and motivation for each shift

    I worked at Gemma Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great location (Lawrence Square Mall) / across from TTC subway. Career opportunities as long as you put the work in. A medium-sized call centre that is policy-driven & strict. Training is very thorough and provides continuous support. Just above minimum wage & sales commissions.

    Cons

    The schedule is brutal. Have to work most late nights & most weekends. No life with the family.

    Advice to Management

    It's a wonderful work environment, but replace the chairs. If you want staff to stay - more days off.

    Pros

    Very fun and friendly colleagues.

    Cons

    Poor management: that don't know what they are doing. Secondly they say your full-time but they cut your hours anyhow as long as they are no leads. I have been sent home for 3 weeks within 5 months.

    Advice to Management

    Openly communicate with your subordinates and stop with the lies.

    I worked at Gemma Communications full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Nice people, including trainor, Team Leaders, and coworkers. Training is free. At Rogers it was for a month. It's locatiin is in a Mall so you have soehwere to walk around as a distraction in breaks & lunch

    Cons

    Since the HR girl interviewd me, she seemed new, so i didnt give her a hard time, i thougjt I'd help jer out by asked my own questuins & answered myself, bc she didint know what to ask( was my impression of her mumbling while looking at some documwbts)
    Management dont keep their employees happy, they didnt feel happy, thats why I saw 3 Managers in the 2 months I worked there. Minimum wage & they wanted us to dress professionally eve. But some TL were waljing around with sport shoes, yoga pants, mini dress.
    I feel they dont incentive the people who are DOING their job well wih a lot of enthusiasm everyday. Poor TLs they were Workforce, quality assurance, and sometimes trainors.
    Workforce was never available, No ONE for more than an hour that I made a TL call them.
    QA gives no feedback. Just "u r doing bad dont bother coming tomorrow"

    Advice to Management

    Change HR. Incentives, promote your agents, so you can have a disciplined Work Force, QA, Team leaders & trainers that grew and represent. Appreciate them mkre, u r not paying enough! But a" let's sit and talk about what van we do to do better" instead of a fewling of "you better stay quiet" 'you have a mind of your own, oh well, lets do something about it.'

    Pros

    Flexible shift timings, pay will be received on time, comfortable week-off's, stat holidays payments

    Cons

    Uncertainty of projects, managers and team leaders gets fired, employees sometimes may get laid off or terminated for non-performance. Less pay, No bonus at all for some of the projects, some projects needs to meet minimum percentage to get the commission for the sales we make. Should check the attendance and the pay you receive, very thoroughly

    Pros

    Somewhat flexible schedules.
    Big Lunch room

    Cons

    -The absolute worst management I've ever come across.
    -Management are liars and high unprofessional. They treat their employees like slaves.
    -A lot of favoritism among the sales floor. Team leaders let "favorite" agents get away with anything. Lying, cheating, screaming, and harassment is never addressed if the agent is best friends with supervisor.
    -No raise or pay increases.
    -Lazy supervisors and the absolute worst Human Resources Department. Very unprofessional and unethical.

    Advice to Management

    Be fair, professional, honest and treat all agents with respect. Address issues and concerns appropriately rather than brushing it under the rug. And try communicating with your employees, stop keeping them in the dark when it comes to certain issues like changes that happen within the company, this will help to prevent rumors and gossip amongst the employees.
