    Pros

Being able to help consumers understand their Health coverage and help them get into the right plan for individual
    coverage or family coverage.

    Cons

The supervisors are hardly at work to assist with issues that arise with issues with work or personal matters.

    Advice to Management

There is no opportunity for advancement.

I worked at General Dynamics Information Technology as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - High-Security (you are kept safe, and sound while you're working.)
    - Clean building
    - Sandy location is where I was, and it's literally right next to the freeway, public transportation accessible.
    - Recruiting staff is extremely eager to hire you, they give you treats.
    - Training staff are very helpful, they really do care about you, and your success t o pass training, and start work,
    - Fellow employees who have been there for awhile, are always willing to assist in any way possible. (This is not including the advanced CSR line)

    Cons

    Ah, where to start....
    Oh yes...

There are pro's and con's to every job. And this job has more cons, that completely over-shadow the pros. Just like a 100 year old maple tree, that dumps leaves all over your shiny, and new car in the Fall.

GDIT is NOT a great place to work. Their attendance policy can best be described as; if you should DIE, and you do not CALL IN about your EVENT, you will be FIRED. Every place should have a little bit of flexible give, and go. However, with GDIT, it's all PUSH! PUSH! PUSH! If you have a medical condition, or kiddos, heed my advice: DON'T APPLY HERE! If you get a cold, that is so bad, and you fear you may be contagious, and you call-in so you can just have a couple (means 2) days, to get well, and you return with a bonafide doctor's note; they will reject it. They will tell you that the attendance policy on "unpaid" days off, for ALL employees that they will NOT accept a doc’s note, even if you are truly sick. Also, on the attendance policy missed time allowed; they will trick you, and say that you can miss up to 9 hours PER WEEK of training. EVEN if you are only taking 2 or 3 hours one day, and arrive late another day, even with notification, and the best proof you can use (reporting on the attendance line, using a note from the school for a sick kid, or perhaps a doc's office note too), they will black-ball you, and LIE and say that you missed more than what you knew you missed. It's happened to plenty employees there. Besides you just get a mad vibe from management. A DISHONEST, DIRTY BUSINESS vibe.

The supervisors, and management are very rude, condescending, paranoid, lazy, and unwilling to help, or vouch for you in any way! They cherry-pick their favorite employees, and they rally behind them. All while creating a hostile work environment. Those favorite employees can create whatever shenanigans that they want to, but if you bring it to their ‘leader,’ you will get in-trouble. YET, they claim to FOSTER a RESPECTFUL TEAM ATMOSPHERE for everyone.

The giant cafeteria is a huge nightmare, that should be better laid out. This room is as big, as at least half of a football field. There’s only 2 refrigerators, and one big, old freezer. When I worked there, there were only 4 working, cheap, microwaves. There are ZERO eating utensils in this vast space, and there’s only 3 beverage machines, there should be about 6 total (3 for each side of the break room), and three snack machines, one of them is a frozen treats machine (there should be 6). And one of the beverage machine that sells cheap coffee, that tastes awful! There isn’t anything healthy in any of these machines, and there is somewhat of a “grill,” which is only owned privately. It’s not company owned. It is VERY expensive. This grill has coffee, fountain, and bottled beverages. A full-service cook, a salad/soup/dessert bar, utensils (that they charge you for, unless you buy an item out of there.), GDIT will not even allow you to have a meal “allowance” like a lot of other places may do. GDIT pays terribly, so there’s really no way anyone can afford a single item in this grill space. And I am sure that the space they’re renting from GDIT has such a HIGH rent, that they must compensate just so they can stay afloat, in that soul-crushing work place.

Verdict: DO NOT WORK AT GDIT UNLESS YOU ARE A MASOCHIST FOR DISRESPECT, AND DEHUMANIZING TREATMENT FROM THE MANAGEMENT!!!

    Advice to Management

I sincerely hope they fire all of the shady, dishonest management employees; and hire some honest, hard-working, respectful, people for management. GDIT civilian division location in Sandy, UT is so incredibly mashed up, this creates trickle-down effect, which enables people who have no regard for rules, (and you can bet they don't follow rules to maintain structure in their personal daily lives), to do exactly what they want, which is more harm, than good. They do NOT follow the principles, and values, that our Military service men, and women follow daily. GDIT as a company in general; have implemented their own core values. They were based off of the core values of our country's founding fathers core values. I would let them know they sincerely need to go in, and restructure Sandy, UT. It'll do them much needed good.

    Pros

It is a fun job and challenging - GDIT is a good company, however read about the cons about who they are doing it for.

    Cons

The company they are doing the data analysis for doesn't seem to have a clue about what they are doing. They claim to be one of the "best" and "biggest", but they can even supply data tests to analyze. It is like the blind leading the blind. They leave people waiting three and four days for data with excuses. Unacceptable! This was a scheduled run,

    Advice to Management

GDIT needs to have penalty clauses with the company that if they don't have don't have their data when they said they would would - they still pay the GDIT people for their time. Otherwise, the GDIT people end up getting sent home and mad at GDIT for something that is not GDIT's fault. This company KNOWS when data is scheduled and should have resource on their end to get it processed for analyzing by GDIT?
