Laid back work environment. Low stress the majority of the time. Pay is competitive for the area. Decent benefits.
Poor management , terrible planning, no direction, missed sales/order projections 3 out of last 4 quarters, orders are constantly flat, no growth, no opportunities for advancement or pay raises(pay has been frozen since '08), the definition of a dead end job, employees walk all over management(they have no backbone), half of employees do absolutely nothing while the rest pick up the slack, which is probably the most annoying thing about working at GE. I'm one of the people that actually does work and if they know you do you just get buried in other peoples responsibilities. I'd guess within the next 10 years this facility will be shut down.
Advice to Management
Eliminate some of the middle management that do nothing to further the company. Clean out some of your lazy work force. Find your spine and make people do their jobs and hold them accountable. Follow through on things that you start. Get better organized and bring in some new process engineers to streamline the processes not rearrange the factory every six months.
