I have been working at General Mills full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Competitive pay and benefits, well-defined sales track with rapid promotion, and great company culture and people. New college hires are given opportunities to present to clients, analyze data, and work has real-positive impact.

    Cons

Rapid promotion means that you are often expected to move to new locations. The sales track is changing, so soon you'll have more say over where and when you relocate. Different office locations have different cultures.

I have been working at General Mills

    Pros

*Great training when you first get on the job - they are really focused on developing you *Lots of visibility with senior management, and the ability to network with others *Surrounded by people who love their job, and in turn, you love to be at work. Always willing to help you out and truly care about your development *Best benefits/compensation when compared to similar positions

    Cons

*The way they promote you is pretty rigid, and isn't very flexible (you are expected to stay within a position for a set amount of time before being able to move on to your next role) *Their locations aren't always ideal and are somewhat limiting

    I worked at General Mills

    Pros

Great pay, and excellent benefits. They truly take care of their employees.

    Cons

Not all managers will take the time to teach and help you grow. Also, people move up and around in the company often. In one year, I had three different managers. That took some time to get adusted to especially as a new hire.

I have been working at General Mills

    Pros

General Mills has a beautiful campus, great benefits and exciting brands. A healthy work life balance is promoted at General Mills and employees value their time away from the office. Most employees at General Mills take pride in their job and it shows through the quality of their work and their attitude in the office. Overall, it is an extremely positive atmosphere at General Mills and people enjoy their jobs. General Mills also takes care of their employees. Employeed feel empowered and secure in their jobs and don't feel like there is a target on their back. In terms of large companies in the twin cities, General Mills is definitely one of the best.

    Cons

Like many big companies, General Mills is very political. Office politics play a big role in promotion decisions. Organizational changes are kept under wraps by senior managment so oftentimes there is quite a bit of gossiping around the company. Since the company is so large it seems to take forever for decisions to be made. You could almost compare the company to a huge ship in that it takes a long time to turn. Also, since General Mills is such a great company there are a lot of employeed who have been here for a long time. It is sometimes hard to bring in new ideas.

I have been working at General Mills full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work Life Balance (Gov Job). Internal movement in different team.

    Cons

Middle management sucks. No knowledge or no visibility what the subordinates working on. No Growth at all. If you are good at your work and can't showcase go to hell. Favoritism at its peak. Become a pet of your manager then u are automatically grown. Indian politics is better than GM's politics. I will not suggest to join any of my friends in this company. Yes if you want to work like in a GOV job then please join here. No expectation, no work ethics etc.

I worked at General Mills for less than a year

    Pros

    - "Generous Mills"; indeed, this company takes incredible care of its customers, community, AND employees - Strong culture and great people to work with - Plenty of growth opportunities with promotions occurring frequently -Company car and gas card (incredible benefits)

    Cons

    - "All roads lead to Minneapolis" -- at least from the business perspective, is true. You better be willing to relocate (although GMI will provide relocation assistance) - Most "higher-ups" have been with the company for years (which is not a bad thing). However, in order to get to the higher up positions you have to be willing to move across the country from business center to business center FREQUENTLY
