We were able to take some old practices and change them for the better, positively impacting the business.
Independent thought was not respected. Upper managment was very autocratic, even abusive at times. In the marketing department, there were unqualified (no education or prior experience) bosses and very high turn over. For example, in four years, there were 12 different product managers in 3 positions.
Advice to Management
Retire. Larry Powers was brilliant - at lining his own pocket. He did retire when he sold to Philips. His henchmen should think of the same to save the company.
