    I worked at Gensler full-time

    Pros

    Mostly collsborative culture. Good infrastructure.

    Cons

Low Pay and beaurocracy. Difficult to go up the latter and relatively low pay unless you come in after ling experience.

    Advice to Management

Depending on which office you work for、the experience can be positive or negative. I had positive in one office and extreme negative in the other. Los Angeles office serious issues. Treat your employees with dignity.

I have been working at Gensler full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company is a huge resource and really believes in its people. At a smaller office like this one the environment is like a family, no negative competitive attitudes between coworkers. There is opportunity but you have to be proactive, ask for it, go above and beyond your minimum tasks, and pay attention. The worldwide network is a great way to work on projects beyond your local office and a unique resource for working...

    Cons

While the company aspires to very high standards, they are not always realistic. Once you accept the way the system works though, it becomes much more manageable. The company believes in long-term development, concentrated work in a specific project type, and aiming for expertise. So while there are many exciting projects around the company, you might be a bit restrained in which type you can work in based on your location...

    Advice to Management

More proactive mentoring for younger staff and open to more flexible staffing across disciplines. Some opportunities seem to be pre-assigned instead of offered.

I have been working at Gensler full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are a vast amount of resources, project types, and people available to help with your career development. Gensler is mostly successful in cultivating a unique local culture, while simultaneously maintaining its global identity.

    Cons

The large size may turn off some people who prefer a smaller environment. While the strong culture reinforces Gensler's identity, it can feel forced at times.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop studio and small-scale identity. Use every new project as an opportunity to push design boundaries. Good design IS a good business strategy. Keep up the good work!

    Pros

-Good Starting Salary -Great Benefits -Lunch and Learns most days with Lunch provided most of the time -Talented Staff -Exciting Projects -Stimulating Work environment to help personal growth for those who are self starters -Great Office Environment to work in

    Cons

-Open Office can be tough at times -Larger firm and harder to standout for those you are reserved -Sometimes difficult to balance work/life time -Due to great bonuses and benefits, raises can be smaller than other firms

    Advice to Management

Not much advice to give... Great place to work. I would suggest promoting growth in younger employees and do everything to retain talented younger staff. Be more transparent with process throughout the firm to raise knowledge "bar" of how the firm operates.
