    Pros

Field and office staff are great to work with! Great to interact with family and patients and bring the gift of hospice to them

    Cons

upper management only cares for bottom line. No raises for years Kindred now owns it not seeing any difference. no one is accountable for their job duties. Upper managment does not have a clue. Poor orientation. Top heavy. Need more effort into compensation for field staff.

    Advice to Management

everyone needs to be held accountable. You get good staff in and they leave. Middle managment needs to be reviewed not all MCP are effective. Too many enablers.

    Pros

Great company who supports their employees and is an advocate for advancement and promotes from within. This employer strives for greatness.

    Cons

While this company strives for employee satisfaction, there is pressure for high volume which can be difficult and looked at as unrealistic expectations which makes work/life balance nearly impossible.

    Advice to Management

Review the expectations for this role

I have been working at Gentiva full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A lot of autonomy. Able to manage own schedule. 1 on 1 pt care. Rewarding relationships with pts and families and referal sources.

    Cons

Lack of management follow through. Everything is always changing. Enduring another company buyout. Years with no raises. Worsening insurance and insurance company changes yearly. HR is very hard to reach and not local.

I have been working at Gentiva full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good managers and office staff. Pretty good rehab staff, some are better than others but you'll find that wherever you work. Tons of educational materials, lots of classes and skills checks performed to make sure clinicians are up to par. Compensations is decent.

    Cons

Always seems to be issues with nursing which reflects poorly on the rest of the care team. Lots of issues with the documentation software and email system, which is a major issue since that's how clinicians communicate and get paid. Unrealistic productivity requirements. As soon as Gentiva was bought by Kindred they increased productivity requirements for new hires.

    Advice to Management

I can't speak for other branches but the management at my office does a good job, but they need to be on top of nursing to make sure they are showing up when they are supposed to and/or communicating with the care team and patient with regards to schedule changes.

I worked at Gentiva full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company cared about the employees. I was always treated very well. The company spent a lot of time doing research and implementing best practices.

    Cons

I really have nothing negative to say. Some people may complain about the way they encourage longer care plans, but the research is there to back it and after all, it is a business.

    Advice to Management

Keep treating your employees well and keep providing leadership that encourages your staff to be better.

    Pros

Taking care of patients in their most intimate last few breaths .

    Cons

Day to day chaos and mis management . No appreciation for dedicated employees and ongoing unethical practices pushing everyone to leave the company .

    Advice to Management

Kindred please donot have hands off modle of practice and forget your branches ,be present and in touch with the needs and concerns of your dedicated emploees ,do more audits to know what is really happening at the cost of pts and workers with excuse of productivity .
