    Pros

Wonderful people, professional, knowledgeable staff. Office perks, flexible benefit packages.

    Cons

Expectations are expected to be met timely, if that's not something you're used to, this may not be the right fit.

    Advice to Management

Keep encouraging and engaging the entire team to come together and bring the branch back to the top.

I have been working at Gentiva full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Truly caring people work here and make a difference. People that have good morals and it's not all about money, nurses are autonomous

    Cons

Pay is a little low, high nurse turn over rate, hard to find a ton on cons about Gentiva, it's the best company I've ever worked for in my 13 year career

I have been working at Gentiva full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful co-workers (not the managers). Free coffee and chocolate chip cookies.

    Cons

Lousy, old girl club style management, extremely poor benefits, nurses overworked, poor communication, no review or raise in three years.

    Advice to Management

Start acting like part of a team; let your employees know what you expect in all positions, not just the nursing staff. Give proper training when switching from paper medical records to electronic medical records; have an IT person on-site. Act like the mega company you are and treat your employees right. If you are not going to care about us stop sending out feel good emails saying that we are the most important part of the company; obviously, we are not that important to you at least in the hospice division. Get rid of the old girls who are there running the show in our office and get people in there who will manage things correctly.

    Pros

    Employees at branches are fantastic.

    Cons

    Unrealistic case loads for nurses.

    Advice to Management

Hospice division should not be managed like home health and should lower gross margin expectations to help with attrition.

I have been working at Gentiva full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Do not have to clock in to work

    Cons

No respect for the LPN's, let RN's determine who your visits will be there for you get to see the worst. No company incentives, no raises or bonus. Christmas gift was a pack of 35 cent crackers and a bag of nuts. Weekend work for the LPN is one person covering the entire Area alone with at least 10 visits may travel over 20 miles from one patient to another. MCP will not help out by calling DR. For anyone or follow up on labs ect.

    Advice to Management

    Help the staff when needed
