    I worked at Genuine Parts full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Stability, decent benefits, decent pay. Great place if you love to eat barbeque!

    Cons

    Racist, racist, racist, racist! If you do not have a backbone, don't stand up for yourself, and don't speak out against the mismanagement that goes on within this company, then you will be the ideal employee. This is the company for you!. Management looks down on hourly employee's. No growth potential if management doesn't like you. It's a "good ole boy company" Run do not apply for any positions with this... place!

    Stable company that has been around for a long time.

    Cons

    Projects are not managed to scope, time, cost, or quality. Delivery dates are routinely extended, sometimes indefinitely, and the final delivered product is usually reduced in scope. Management has no qualms with standing up in a status meeting and ensuring both participants and customers alike that they are indeed following the highest ISO quality standards even with the full knowledge that generally, fully... developed and written requirements do not actually exist. Career development, training, and promotions generally held for good-ole-boys and a select few that are willing to tow the company line. Extremely high turnover over the last several years and poor morale. Employee surveys taken every other year or so but no real changes follow ...

    Stable company with strong NAPA name recognition.

    Cons

    Weak incompetent management at all levels. Very unethical and disrespectful to their employees. The 'good ole boy' culture is alive and well; even with a female CIO who has not been able to deliver as promised. Employee morale is low and turnover is high because the same incompetent, inexperienced, and uneducated people continue to get promoted.

    Senior management needs to open their eyes and stop the lies. You know your flagship development product is the Titanic!

    Pros

    Great working atmosphere and co workers, many friends made working there. Great bonus program expecially EOY.

    Cons

    Very demanding houres one cannot balance personal life and professional career with expectations to succed with company basically all take and no give. Management tries to motivate with intimdation very little praise given. Promotions given "good ole boys club" fashion.

    Advice to Management

    Your only as good as your people, you are losing many years of experiance. Open your eyes and stop being so proud.......for the sake of the company's future.

    - Stable company - Good benefits - Great location

    Cons

    - Good ole boy culture is very much alive - No career advancement opportunities - Incompetent people are promoted / hired - Unethical and dishonest management - Little to no accountability - Employees are disrespected and not valued - Unstructured and chaotic work place

    Advice to Management

    - Listen to and value the employees with years of experience at the company. - Stop doing the perfunctory employee surveys without taking genuine action. - Provide the employees monetary rewards when record sales quotas are exceeded instead of the barbeque & pasta lunches.
