I have been working at Genworth full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Even though we are waiting on a purchase by China Oceanwide our Genworth associates and community rally against our purpose. We want to be the leader in empathetic care for our clients needs. Updated salaries should help us attract the kind of talent ready to work hard, play hard and have genuine purpose in roles. All new HR leadership has plans to push the envelope and achieve "best places to work" status again

    Cons

The culture is...outdated. Benefits in some pockets-like leave-are slow to adapt. Leaders need to focus on motivation and work design.

    Advice to Management

Get quickly updated on how we can implement customer back AND associate back design.

    Pros

Friendly coworkers, decent benefits and salary, family oriented.

    Cons

Vacation time and sick time are from the same allotment of "Choice Time Off", too much variance in salaries amongst peers

I have been working at Genworth full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

This company really does care about their employees and customers. Working here feels like being part of a family, rather than being an employee at a job. Over the years, managers and coworkers have stepped up in amazing ways to help each other: everything from helping with storm clean up to planning surprise celebrations. This is truly a supportive company!

At sites in Richmond and Lynchburg VA- Genworth offers many benefits such as a gym, health center, full cafeterias, and many break-rooms.

The company offers an extensive benefit program for full-time employees including: health, vision , dental, life insurance, disability insurance and even an option for pet care! Like most companies, an employee would sign up and pay for these benefits from their paycheck.

    Cons

You will need patience for promotions and the pay is not as competitive as some of the other large insurance companies.

    Pros

Genworth's work environment is amazing. Everyone here is like a family and works together very well.

    Cons

Sick time is taken out of your vacation time. It would be nice if sick time was separate from vacation.
