I worked at Geocorp for less than a year

    Pros

Since I have to say a "PRO" the only thing I can think of is they do have a fairly clean restroom.

    Cons

This place is an example of a concentration camp. The owners will treat you like crap. Everybody who works here (because they need the paycheck) is petrified of the owners. The owners walk around saying mean things about you, like how stupid you are, and that you are very lucky that you work here, and chances are you will not be able to work anywhere else. DO NOT WORK HERE - this place is HORRIBLE... go to... McDonalds or Burger King - DO NOT work here...

I worked at Geocorp full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The big pro here is that the owner sinks much of his money back in to the business. But that is where it stops.

    Cons

Ownership is VERY unprofessional. If you do not fit in with what they call their "culture", you are wasting your time because they will not hesitate to let you go. Need to have a thick skin as well, because NOTHING is off limits with these highly unprofessional people. Also, no matter WHAT you are hired in for, you will spend an UNSPECIFIED amount of time in their "training matrix" which is simply code for... "production factory job". They will tell you it's in an effort to learn the product. It is nothing more than a prolonged interview for ownership to see if they like you. Low pay also. Each person you meet will tell you they took a hit to work here. That is if you can get anyone to talk, given the hostile environment. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

I have been working at Geocorp full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Office hours are reported as 9-5. Get to work with a lot of huge companies. Owner tells you that you'll get tons of bonuses. They make you learn every aspect of the shop which betters your knowledge of the product from quotation, cutting raw materials, assembly, to shipping it out. Owner will take you out to get drinks occasionally on his bill.

    Cons

Manditory overtime, and if you have plans then "you don't appreciate your job". Pay raises are non existant. In fact in my tenure there the only pay difference was a 10% cut the entire workshop took. Business was great at the time so the rumor was the money went to fund the owners "1 percenter" image. 10% of the weekly meetings is to let you know you're not working hard enough, and the other 90% is to let you know... how terrible the government is. We negotiated 2 weeks of vacation upon my recruitment there and when I went to claim it they said I only get one. Also the owner told me that in 3 years I could be making 80k a year, but when I got into the office I found out I was already making more money than the rest of the sales staff except the good ol boys.

    Advice to Management

Stop promising the world to people you recruit from good jobs and then failing miserably to deliver on it. And keep George out of any decision making processes. John still has my respect and is incredible at what he does, but George makes irrational decisions based on emotions. Also pay your skilled workers accordingly. I found out after leaving that I made more money than even the highly skilled workers and that... was a major dissapointment.
