I worked at Geometry Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good network, decent clients and great people. Opportunity exists with smart staff and effective business strategy to that move the needle

    Cons

Management is concerning, very top heavy, a lot of cooks in the kitchen, and some people management style is an issue.

    Advice to Management

Micromanagement can be a major issue

I worked at Geometry Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun atmosphere. Good coworkers. Challenging work.

    Cons

Everything seems to start with a good idea and then go nowhere good. e.g., cafeteria in building, but more expensive than everywhere else. Always shifting units around to different floors.

    Extremely under market salaries.
    No bonuses or raises.
Very little training and opportunities for growth.
No acknowledgement of good work done.

I worked at Geometry Global full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They try to promote a relaxed and fun work atmosphere, although it ends up being only surface level. So much office space in Akron that you'll get one in a position you never would in another company.

    Cons

Akron management (and some corporate management) is surprisingly terrible for the clients they have managed to secure. The higher up they go, the less they know - and the more they talk and try to insert themselves. No trust in the real talent. Last-minute emergencies that are completely avoidable with decent time management capabilities. Managing Director so power hungry that she's willing to undercut her peers, steal work groups regardless of whose jobs will be lost. Putting people in power who have no idea what they're talking about because they charm her and make her feel good. This is Geometry in a nutshell: well-dressed charming talking heads with nothing to back it up. What a shock they keep losing clients!

Shameless wasting of client dollars in travel and what they will treat themselves to, food and (lots of) drinks, and then return home to lay people off because there's no money to keep them. I've seen entire teams hung over in front of clients after a night of drinking, reeking of alcohol and clearly not showered because of travel partying. This place is run by the clueless.

Also just terrible benefits, pay, increases - I have no doubt that management gets treated well but there is no money left over for the others, I've seen people go 7 years without an increase. The only thing going for Akron in terms of retention is that there's so little competition, people stay by default. And they use that to their advantage. My advice is don't waste your time, this place won't change anytime soon.

    Advice to Management

Why bother? They don't listen, they know everything already.

I worked at Geometry Global full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good brands to work on with people who loved the Ogilvy way of life; great location in the heart of Chicago

    Cons

No more Ogilvy branding made you feel like should we're at a whole new company and I was not sure what to expect; management new to it all with uncertainty of what's to come

    Advice to Management

Keep defining the path ahead with positive, pointed direction

I worked at Geometry Global full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    • Good people / creative people are pretty nice to work with
    • Gym & cafeteria in the building

    Cons

    • Poor management, this company is all about senior managers
    • No promotion, no bonus, no raise, etc
    • Keep losing good stable clients, and now they only have few
    • No one cares or appreciates what you do

    Advice to Management

Everyone in the agency know that they are doing pretty bad. Problem is no one cares, or no one is trying to make it better. Please listen to people and stop firing good people.
