I have been working at Georg Fischer full-time

    Pros

Those on the management team that were team players really formed a tight bond of trust.
Captial Money was available and purchasing was smooth as long as you understand the process.
The knowledge of the process still exists within the walls of the building.
Clean facility and a very strong safety culture has been growing relative to competitions facilities.
New training program is being implemented, seems that it will drive a new culture of experience within the locations

    Cons

Those on the management team only out for self preservation really put a strain on the group that is looking out for the team. These individuals seem to pull at the seams of the team and really need to be coached back to support the team or removed from the group.
When it comes to capital spending and projects, listen to the experience in the floor! Sometimes the best ideas are those that come from the roots.
The experience that is still within the walls of the building is being ignored, the longer it is ignored the harder it will be to get back to a truly knowledgeable workforce.

    Advice to Management

Follow through and follow up, do what you say and practice what you preach...
If you want to implement a new initiative, then make sure your ENTIRE team understands and supports it....
    You want 5S....support it!
    You want 4DX....support it!
You want 5 dysfunctions .....follow up on it!
If upper management doesn't follow up, you can not expect your subordinates to have any buy in!

    Pros

Good pay...other then that...there is none!

    Cons

So many. Terrible lying HR dept. Clueless inept management. The guy running Little Rock and Easton has no idea what he is doing! They say they are focused on quality...but they really don't care. If your a favorite of HR your fine...if not your out the door!

    Advice to Management

Please keep an eye on your Little Rock and Easton plants...all your good people are leaving or being fired. Alll that will be left are liars and people who are only there for their interests..not yours.

I have been working at Georg Fischer full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Georg Fischer is a great place to work and there are good opportunities for development if you are willing to apply yourself. There is good work-life balance and as long as you do your job and do it well people won't complain. I am grateful to be surrounded by a very talented group of people, some new hires and some who have been around since the beginning of time it would seem, which creates a good balance of new, innovative ideas and sound knowledge that comes only with experience.

    Cons

With a number of operations across the world and the United States, it seems at times that each entity is pulling in different directions and communication between the different facilities is disjointed, especially with a lot of newer acquisitions. Senior management could be a bit more transparent as sometimes big decisions are made that seem to come out of the blue.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent with your employees and interact with them a bit more to get to know their concerns since at times they tend to feel a bit left out. Also try to create a better, more efficient communications network within the United States and across continents too.

I worked at Georg Fischer full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits and hard working employees "on-the-floor"... Multiple business segments around the world.

    Cons

Upper Management doesn't get it. Their strategy in the United States is flawed and everyone is looking to increase their own personal value and not the company as a whole. Many sites have layoffs and employees are lied to.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to manage people out of a textbook... Get to know your employees and the value they can bring to the company. What may have worked in the past, may still work with a little innovations.
