    Ive been working at Mason for nearly a year and have enjoyed my experience overall. The positives of working here are:
    Nice people to work with
    Students are usually appreciative of your help
    Nice campus
    Strong sense of diversity

    Cons

    Pay is not as high as other universities
    Space is limited and tight
    Faculty engagement is low

    Advice to Management

    Increase salaries for staff and term faculty
    Motivate faculty to participate in campus activities, i.e. free admissions to games, free membership to gym, etc.

    Flexible hours and lots of time off.

    Cons

    Nowhere to advance, strict rules that make 0 sense and hierarchical chain of command.

    Advice to Management

    Use the skills your workers have and encourage teamwork/in-house advancement and maybe your turnaround wouldn't be instant.

    Pros

    Great experience and work study balance. Everyone is friendly and the work environment is very nice. Management is helpful in finding job after graduation.

    Cons

    Compensation is a bit lacking but for a part time job for a full time student there is not much better.

    Great people, collaborative spirit that extends across campus, willingness to try things that are new or out of the ordinary, diversity, inclusive climate, great benefits.

    Cons

    State restrictions, public institution = budget is subject to the whims of politicians, relatively low salaries, not a lot of opportunities for advancement at the non-senior level.
