I have been working at George Mason University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The working environment is what you make it out to be. If you have strong interpersonal skills you can turn a negative interaction with a customer (Student or Faculty) in to a positive one. My coworkers at GMU are awesome people, full of enthusiasm with well-rounded skills to assist one another in every shape and way.

    Cons

You may experience some rude people as an office assistant but that's part of the job. Being able to handle both stressful and non-stressful situations to the best of your ability, while providing accurate responses.
