Okay for a beginning, but no where to stay and get comfortable

      Pros

They are very understanding of your needs and family. So if you need time off or have an emergency that needs your attention you will get support.

      Cons

The environment is extremely political and management is not open to change. As a result, there are a lot of walking zombies who lack ambition and drive that come to work for the paycheck and then go home... or until they find something better.

      Great Way to Meet People

      Pros

Job was at the gym. It was pretty laid back but there were also stressful days depending on the people that came into the gym. I enjoyed getting to know my coworkers and all the students that came in. Everyday I came to work I was greeted with smiles and hugs from workers and gym regulars.

      Cons

Towards the end the boss was hiring regulars and people that became friends with the staff. This caused some of the staff to turn into a clique. They were all nice but you could tell they had their own group hangouts outside of work. This didnt bother me that much. The worst thing was that once they became employees they didnt really talk to regulars coming into the gym. Instead they ignored people and talked to each other. The boss started realizing this so it is probably better now. The bad of this is now he probably wont hire friends who could have been good workers because of this. The pay. Its not bad for a gym job but even managers have the same pay. There is no incentive to have more responsibility but you are expected to do so much more.
