I worked at Georgia Gwinnett College full-time

    Pros

Progressive approach to teaching; Has the most diverse student body in the state.

    Cons

Fast enrollment growth; administration just now catching up with faculty hires.

    Advice to Management

Once enrollment stabilizes, taper down class work load for instructors - quality over quantity (nix 1 instructor teaching 5 courses a semester) can build on the school's reputation.

I worked at Georgia Gwinnett College part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent IT management
Looks for new software/hardware to better suit needs of teachers
Pretty fair in terms of job responsibilities

    Cons

    Favoritism
    Lots of office politics
Co-workers hired are not exactly filtered out, mostly lazy (not talking about the full-time staff)

    Advice to Management

Increase training for part time in order to have them actually be useful when going to solve a problem instead of having 3 of the 30 fix the major problems. Having a team that can solve basic to intermediate issues would help greatly.

    Pros

Great team environment excellent training and is a great department to gain a massive amount of technical knowledge.

    Cons

Every day is a new experience when dealing with the technical field. Therefore the cons are slim to non because you are still learning.

    Advice to Management

Management does an excellent job preparing the student workers, and allowing them to ask questions and providing feedback.

    Pros

very friendly environment. workers are hard working. Students are accommodating very nice campus and always cleaned. I like that it is a non-smoking environment.

    Cons

salary could be better. No microwaves to warm your lunch in most of the campus buildings. Wrongfully giving parking tickets to visitors

    Advice to Management

Please place suggestion boxes all over

    Pros

Beautiful, clean campus, free parking, lots of choices for places to eat without ever leaving the campus.

    Cons

Most of the departments do not communicate with each other which creates a hostile environment for the most time.

    Advice to Management

Unify the campus from the top down

I have been working at Georgia Gwinnett College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexibility in work time
Ability to make a career change if desired
Tuition assistance for extending your education
The college has a good core mission and values. They operate much like a start-up which is refreshing to see for a college where things can be beaten down by bureaucracy.

    Cons

The salaries aren't what you'd make in any corporate setting
Raises are few and far between unless you change titles
The college is very new, so some procedures that you may be used to may not exist yet.

    Advice to Management

Open up more training opportunities for employees. Don't be afraid to let your employees have more of a direct impact on the student population.
