I have been working at Georgia Military College (Less than a year)

    Pros

I am a student here at Georgia Military College and part of the Student Ambassador Program.

They have flexible hours. Because you have to be a student to get this job they are very understanding if you need to take off some time to study for classes or anything. You sign up for hours yourself, and you can change those hours as long as you give them advanced notice.

It's an easy job. Most of the work you would do is simple enough that you can get all your homework done while getting paid.

The pay is good. Given that this job is incredibly easy, paying more than minimum wage impresses me.

    Cons

Sometimes, if you have no homework, you can end up sitting still for hours with nothing happening. But, this might be a Pro for some people!

    Advice to Management

None, the administration here is already awesome.

    Advice to Management

Consider paying people more to retain / attract top talent.

    Pros

Great benefits, excellent time off, almost all of the faculty and staff are a pleasure to work with, able to take ownership of your own projects if you prove you are competent, get to work with enterprise level technology with a small staff, which means you can learn a lot quickly

    Cons

Salary could be better, small staff size means that it's nearly impossible to move up in your position unless someone else leaves. Office politics can slow down or kill some of the better ideas. Incompetent people tend to stay in their position for too long due to the conservative nature of the senior management. Don't always get to use or learn the latest technology or practices due to budget constraints or ingrained conservative attitude.

    Advice to Management

Identify the incompetent employees and get rid of them quicker, this will make the organization leaner and more agile. Promote employees on performance rather than longevity.
