      Pros

Highly organized company. Good benefits. Clear goals and expectations. High quality managers. Strong support for employees trying to do their jobs (many resources available).

Some cliques in upper management. Some nepotism (if your dad is in upper management your job is safe and you will be have plenty of opportunities).

      Pros

Good pay, benefits ok to a point

      Cons

Terrible Managemnt, HR doesn’t support employees they hide things and cover up wrong doings. Upper management will retaliate against employees when they are respectfully challenged. It’s is a lot more I can say but jut not enough writing space

      No respect for young talent

Sep 25, 2020 - Graduate Engineer in Green Bay, WI

      Pros

Great Manager, ability to travel, different projects to learn from

      Cons

In 2020 they laid off most if not all younger engineers meaning they have pivoted into a company that does not want to grow younger talent from within. I would not recommend any position for a young engineer as upper management has no respect for younger talent.

      Bad Management and poor leadership

Jul 20, 2019 - Millwright Machinist in Monticello, MS

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great people hourly. You can learn a few new things if you are new to the mechanical job.

      Cons

Supervision do what they want with 0 accountability. HR department is one sided for the company and have very little concerns for the hourly employees. Supervision, planners, and upper management will contract jobs the hourly employees can do for way less than any contractor and not think twice. The company has very little concern with grievances from the union and try to push over them. They cut hours and lay off while hiring salaried employees and say the hourly folks was laidoff for economic reasons. Saftey is preached from salary employees however when it comes to production then saftey is second. The company has contracted jobs that was found unsafe. They contract these jobs at night so no one will be there to question it except the next day. The saftey department only leaves offices when an accident has already happened. I feel if koch industries knew what all was going on here they would be genuinely upset and make a change. Management here preaches the koch guiding principles but fail to follow them. The guiding principles of apply to the hourly employees and never a salary person. Pay is on the decline because HR only looks at surrounding mill pay. If they want retention they should look at all employment skilled and non skilled, mills and non mill. They claim to do a 50 mile radius. Personally I drive 54 miles. I want this to be my last career but if pay and hours keep dropping I'll drive in the other direction.

GP - A decent company to work for!

Aug 24, 2017 - IT Systems Analyst in Atlanta, GA
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Good balance between work and life. - Constant feedback from colleagues and management. - Invests heavily in new technologies and upgrades. - Centrally located to transit. - Competitive 401(k) matching. - Tuition reimbursement. - Exposure to a wide array of technology.

      Cons

      - Legacy employees who don't cooperate with other teams and operate in silos. - Slow to change and adapt technologies across the enterprise. - Slightly under market compensation. - Projects or high priority items occasionally destroy my former 'Pro' of a good work life balance. They're sparse and it is an ebb and flow kind of situation. - Owned by the Koch brothers, and they push their political beliefs on employees far too often. - Some in upper management are short sited, and combative.

Good for opening the door of opportunity

      Pros

Looks good on resume. Plenty of opportunities to take on more challenges and get time in front of senior management. Company does a great job of training employees for the job.

      Cons

Pay not comparable to the amount of work and time you put in. Low base pay and standard increases in pay over time (not based on value created as told). Company uses incentive compensation to distract employees from realizing they have a low base salary. Very few women and minorities in upper management and they aren't compensated as well if they are in the positions.
