I worked at Georgia Tech full-time

    Pros

    - Modern research facilities and world class scientists and engineers.
    - Many multi-disciplinary research programs with government and industry partners.
    - Great opportunity to be at the forefront of science and develop skills for the future.

    Cons

    - Very competitive (to be expected) and extremely fast paced work environment.
    - Often expected to work long hours and on weekends.
    - Low pay for non-tenured faculty and staff.

    Advice to Management

In many cases salaries do not reflect the heavy work of a scientist. A push to increase salaries to reflect work load more accurately would be very welcomed.

I have been working at Georgia Tech part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Given that it's Georgia Tech, the students are smart and I enjoy teaching them. There's little to no micro-management from the department chair or Ph.D. Program director (I am a Ph.D. student teaching independent, not as a Teaching Assistant).

    Cons

The Economcs program is small and hence most students in my class are from other majors. But that's not really an issue. Students from other majors also show interest in Econ if you can motivate them.

    Advice to Management

Nothing particular. I am pleased to be allowed to teach while being a Ph.D. student and I don't have any complaints.
