I have been working at Geosyntec Consultants full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Smart people, good opportunities, good benefits, good stability, good growth, opportunities, work has been steady and productive

    Cons

some offices are more corporate than others (can be frugal and put business before employees at times), work is dependent on management,

    Advice to Management

Get a chance to sit down with employees more. We appreciate being busy but as the firm gets larger, remember that alot of smaller offices and companies appreciate more 1-on-1 time and sitting down with the bosses to discuss future outlook. It will only help productivity in my opinion.

I have been working at Geosyntec Consultants full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Extremely smart coworkers, challenging work, varied projects

    Cons

competitive, and don't expect to have much of a life outside of work if you want to be successful

    Advice to Management

How about an ACTUAL diversity program instead of one that ONLY includes gender?

I have been working at Geosyntec Consultants full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to many different types of projects. Fairly good flexibility in terms of work hours, leaving early, etc.

    Cons

Very steep learning curve with little training for many job tasks. Poor work-life balance and perpetually under-staffed.

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees! The "just make it work" attitude when resources are stretched too thin is driving folks away. We're burnt out.

I worked at Geosyntec Consultants (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Rational, Intelligent and professional co-workers. Excellent support from office while traveling, in the field. A culture of "get the job done right" prevails. Not once in 5 years was I asked to "justify" expenses or pressured to "keep hours down".

    Cons

At times, an overwhelming work load (65+ hrs @ week). Training was more "trial by fire" than "this is how to do your job successfully"

    Advice to Management

    None, great group of people.

I worked at Geosyntec Consultants full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people. Complex and interesting problems. Management that cares about the people, the environment, and the quality of their work. All managers are technical and still do work.

    Cons

Growing pains. The company is stuck in its old ways from when it was a 100-500 person company. They can't keep scaling this way.

    Advice to Management

Create many paths to success for employees. One size does not fit all.
