I worked at Getronics as a contractor (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay, good tech support, decent management.

    Cons

Was getting paid hourly, so if you do an 8 hour job in 4 hours - you get paid for 4 hours with no opportunity to get work for the next 4 hours.

I worked at Getronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is a company that is visibly transforming in a good way, constantly developing the portfolio through acquisitions and projects. Lots of new business wins and great renewal rate due to strong client relationships and focus on value delivery. Roles are much broader than in larger service providers and there's space to shape roles, responsibilities and strategy if you put energy into it. Talent is recognized for promotion and pay increases. Access to online training courses including Safari and CBT Nuggets.

    Cons

Staffing is lean and expectations high, so work pace gets intense. Expect to wear a lot of hats at the same time (worked for me but may not be for everybody). If online training isn't your thing it may be an uphill battle to get put on external courses.

    Advice to Management

A little more spend on training and pay could avoid a lot of lost productivity, lost knowledge and hiring costs. The rate of new client onboarding justifies additional dedicated resource to alleviate stress on the BAU operations teams.

I have been working at Getronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Massive transformation into a apps / cloud provider which was greatly needed to compete in today's digital environment - surprised to hear 50% of Getronics revenues come from apps cloud and unified comms - and they have 6500 people in 22 countries

    Cons

People have a perception of Getronics because they have been around for such a long time - however take a look at their web site and it's clear to see the business has really been invested in

    Advice to Management

    Keep going!

I have been working at Getronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Regardless of the stage of your career, there are plenty of opportunities to progress within the company and you are encouraged and supported to further your career.
If you enjoy a fast-paced and exciting working environment which changes to better adapt to the market then this is the place for you. The people are fantastic - some of the best I've ever worked with - the common trait being a 'can do' attitude and approach to our work which makes it an exciting and rewarding environment to work in.
The work/life balance Getronics can offer through it's advanced flexi-working and working from home programme is exceptional.
Salary is generally around the average marker, if not a bit more generous.

    Cons

Change is a consistency within Getronics so if you prefer a slower pace of life, this is not the company for you!

    Advice to Management

More of the same! Continue to focus on growth via smart acquisitions, organic growth and via strategic partners.
