    Pros

    I worked in several offices/departments. All of my supervisors were great to work with and great mentors.

    Cons

    The pay is minimum wage in Pennsylvania.

    Great Community Environment; Strong Academic Programs and Services. Well prepared students.

    Cons

    Outdated technologies for mass email, phones, etc. Overspending in some areas -- not enough spending in others.

    Overall, keep up the good work and keep this a great community to work in.

    learning environment where employees learn to do different tasks through experience. generally, someone with seniority shows you how things are done, but management expects all tasks to be done efficiently and correctly.

    Cons

    tasks and protocol for doing things aren't always clear, so it is important to ask questions if you are unsure.

    Advice to Management

    clearer instructions for new employees on how to complete tasks

    Some of the most excellent staff in the area, really quality, intelligent people who are hardworking and committed to good products

    Cons

    It took over a month to get my first paycheck. Its a big company, but not that big.

    Helping the college in their fundraising and development efforts.
    Highest-paying on-campus job.

    Slow nights when very few people are picking up our calls.

    I worked at Gettysburg College (More than a year)

    Pros

    Supervisor was very kind and organized. She understood that school came first and was willing to be flexible in the hours I worked. Training was provided and I always felt comfortable with the tasks I was assigned.

    Cons

    Low pay. Boring, detail-oriented job. Must have a lot of concentration and patience.

    Talking with alumni, parents, and grandparents of the college
    Networking and building a relationship with the alumni, parents and grand parents of the college
    Easy work hours (6-9pm), very flexible work shifts
    Great work environment

    Cons

    Having to ask for money to parents who are already paying college tuition
    Slow work nights from time to time

    Great Benefits
    Good work environment- very flexible
    Friendly coworkers

    Cons

    Low pay
    Never closes for inclement weather (even blizzards!), employees either risk driving or use their own PTO
    No room to move up or grow, staff just move to the same position in different departments

    Advice to Management

    Consider that although all students live on campus, all staff do not and we still must travel in dangeruous snow and ice to come to work when you choose to stay open during inclement weather.
