I worked at Gexpro full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Fast paced
    Challenging
    Health benefits
    Matching 401k
    Very little micromanaging
Branch revenue is growing by 25% each year.
Most of the people are down to earth and easy to get along with.

    Cons

    Poor leadership
    Lacks structure
    Cannot keep up with demand
    Understaffed
    Overworked
    Broken promises
    Management is inexperienced
    Upward mobility is political
    No work life balance
    Employees are treated like commodities
    Poor training
    Demanding customer
Business in Midwest and East Coast is slow, so corporate puts a lot of pressure on the West Coast to increase revenues.
    Make cutbacks every year nationwide

    Advice to Management

You are losing good employees left and right because you refuse to move up the people who make your company great. When you stop promoting people based on favoritism, and start promoting people based on their skills and experience the company will benefit as a result.

Not any I can think of.

    Cons

Poor training programs, CRM is basic at best, live the plan. Limited when you only have GE to sell and they do not perform. Inventory is lacking if you want sales growth.

    Advice to Management

    Get on the same page.

I worked at Gexpro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay and flexible work environment

    Cons

Has been going through a lot of changes over the past several years and there appears to just be no cohesion throughout the company. Each branch is essentially a lone entity struggling to deal with the over arching change required by the bigger company. Top down support/leadership is severely lacking and not only deteriorating the business, but is driving away very good seasoned veterans within in the industry. Systems and processes are in absolute disarray, yet the individual branches are expected to operate smoothly. I had no sense of a culture within the company.

    Advice to Management

You have some very good people working for you, help them do their jobs, don't make it harder for them. Also, make up your mind on what systems and processes you want to use throughout the company, doing it here and there is killing the business, hindering good workers, and driving people away. You're hemorrhaging talent.

I have been working at Gexpro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very flexible hours-a little too flexible
Great pay for those that don't really put forth the effort to do their job.
    Good hours.
Good Benefits-that is why the slackers stay with the company. No other company would allow this.

    Cons

Management is very lax in managing their employees. The employees do pretty much what they want and when they want. They take too much time off and do not report it (said by one of the employees). Employees are not held accountable for their lack of work ethics. Been told by some employees that they do not do the updates that are set by the company. Dress code is whatever they want to wear at any day of the week even though the employees wear jeans and tennis shoes during the week when it supposed to be just on Friday. Only some employees help answer the phone when it should be everyone. Management is afraid to reprimand their employee for not doing their job. As long as the other employees take care of the ones who don't they think everything is ok. Has poor moral but no one says anything anymore because they have taken their issues to management before but nothing is done about it.

    Advice to Management

Wake up. Employees are robbing you blind. They come in late almost every day. They take too long of lunch breaks. Leave early or don't come in at all and does not report time off. Management doesn't seem to care that employees are robbing the company of time. You could have less employees if you had good employees. Paying someone for not doing their job is not the way to go. You should really listen to those that has something to say. They are trying to tell you something.
