I worked at Gianni Versace full-time

    Pros

Nice offices, fancy espresso machine with unlimited coffee, good compensation and benefits. Associate / coordinator staff are all very nice, summer Fridays and one day off a month extra in the winter

    Cons

Bad management with zero mentorship for new hires from both the heads of department and HR. Environment feels like a sink or swim situation. Not knowing what to do is the employees fault, even if they were given bad or no direction on how things are done. Lots of miscommunication between what Milan headquarters want and what US headquarters should be doing. Tons of time wasted in long and pointless conference calls. Generally inefficient and outdated software used.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to train your employees! How can they help you if you do not show them the way to do so? Thinking that training someone is too time consuming is a shortsighted attitude that sets everyone up for failure. Any employee can be successful in any role as long as they are given the right training and help.

    Pros

Definite Brand Recognition as the world has heard of Versace, positively and negatively.

    Cons

Tremendous turnover in personnel due to the lack of advancement and lack of monetary compensation for a job well done. Current management team lack luster and not honest with the staff. Prefer drones and not fast thinking.Trends are going backwards here instead of forward.

    Advice to Management

Wake up. The change needs to come from the top.

    Pros

The product is amazing and the clientele is exciting. The strong DNA of the textile patterns and the way a whole world of product is built around it.

    Cons

The company culture is overly influenced by a select few who do not have the stores' best interests at heart. Lack of payroll budget makes proper staffing difficult

    Advice to Management

Stay optimistic and think about the changes you can affect at ground level as opposed to trying to change systems that don't make sense

    Pros

    The brand recognition.
If you lucky and get to work for a good team, you might learn something.

    Cons

Very strange dynamics especially among the executives. Very abnormal HR department; in everyone's business, coming up with different rules, for different employees on daily basis. They care less if you are happy or not, but my advice is to pretend to be happy as they don't welcome criticism. Place isn't open for ideas or creative minds, so think twice before you speak your mind. Doesn't matter if you talented or dedicated, it's all about who likes you.

    Pros

company culture, friends and family sale

    Cons

    compensation, learning experience, personal growth

    Advice to Management

Friendly, laid-back culture is a gem in the fashion industry. The work itself is not very interesting. Management does not always communicate their expectations well, and internship is supposed to be a teaching/learning experience. Especially considering that there is zero compensation, management could do a better job making sure the interns are learning new skills.
