I worked at Giant Eagle part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Amazing atmosphere. Perfect for those who are just entering the job world, or for those who just need some extra part-time money. Managers were always direct and honest about what needed to be done. Business runs well, and there are always perks given out to team members. There is a strong emphasis on teamwork and getting things done as needed withing the company.

I worked for Giant eagle for 8 years, and it was some of the best times of my life. Truly a job that promotes from within, and builds people up from the start. Lots of second changes are given to those who make mistakes, including a very lenient attendance policy.

    Cons

None that I can think of. There may be a little too much focus on irrelevant procedures like 5S, and silly documentation of surroundings.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up

I have been working at Giant Eagle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Management can be really nice
    Schedule is somewhat flexible
Work is pretty easy, basic , unskilled
Show up to work and do your job and you won't have any issues with management
variety of benefits, like a 10% discount on GE products

    Cons

    Low job satisfaction
    barely over minimum wage
    on feet/ walking entire shift
lots of kneeling on hard floors
shifts range between 4hr/day to 8hr/day

    Advice to Management

Needs more consistency in workers/truckload, for example: some days three people will be scheduled on a huge truck, and a lot will not get done. Other times four people might be scheduled and will finish an hour early.

I worked at Giant Eagle as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Typical office environment, M-F 9-5, good hours, professional relationships and meetings. There is an internship project and presentation to top executives.

    Cons

I do not enjoy an office environment and feeling of being trapped sitting in a cubicle for 40 hours per week only to leave for the occasional meeting.
