    Pros

Flexible work schedule and the sense that leadership genuinely cares. Ability to contribute to the growth (or decline) of individual categories since ideas are rarely vetted.

    Cons

Private company that could be sold at any time and annual layoffs to offset inability to budget properly. Diversity & inclusion of minorities and LGBT communities excludes everyone else and in turn is hypocritical.

    Advice to Management

Hire based off individual ability NOT someone who you are "buddies" with.

I worked at Giant Eagle part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Schedule was flexible. Upon providing 2 weeks notice, you can work with management to arrange days not to work.

    Cons

There was a lot of management shifting, where people from outside were brought in to fill management positions rather than promoting from within.

    Advice to Management

Value your workers a bit more, by awarding those who have shown dedication and good work ethic with raises and promotions when opportunites arise.

I have been working at Giant Eagle part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very flexible with student schedules. Good pay and regular raises. Union positions inside stores.

    Cons

Corporate always tries to push new policies every few weeks without regard to how stores are actually run. Hours cut more and more each week to skeleton staff levels.

    Advice to Management

Study the stores and how they run before you put ass-backward policies in place.
