I have been working at GiftCertificates.com full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits: PTO, Medical, Dental, 401k Match, Flexible Scheduling, Fitness Club Allowance, Nice walking trail outside, Close to a golf course, etc.

Open door policy and management team is closely in tuned to employees.

Always looking to develop and better the products and solutions.

    Cons

Office space is sort of dated and could use some renovation to keep up with newer company cultures.

    Advice to Management

Keep building technology and keep the door open to employee growth.

    I worked at GiftCertificates.com full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great Location with plenty of food options near
    - Easy Hours
    - Common Sense Work
    - Your Own Personal Desk
    - Small Company
    - access to internet at personal desk without blockers or filters
    - Quarterly pow wows when the company provides food

    Cons

    -Unprofessional Management
    - "Training" was horrible. I was sat at a desk with a folders filled with Powerpointa and word documents and told to read them. After I finished I was read the same thing by the manager
    - Their website states 3-5 days for delivery but on the phone it's 3-5 BUSINESS days and when (because it does a lot) it goes over that you tell the customer basically you'll get when you get it. You can understand why this typically ends with irate customers.
    -uneven work load between agents

    Advice to Management

To go into the company unannounced and monitor their operations

    I worked at GiftCertificates.com full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Located in a very quiet location in Northwest Omaha.
-Plenty of eateries and order in places for lunch.
-For the first time as a Customer Service Agent I had my very own desk/cubicle!!
-Training was thorough, yet not repetitive and the hiring manager/trainer was very nice and helpful.
-The agent I shadowed was patient with me and she gave me good tips on how to do my job effectively.
    -Friendly work environment.
-Nice break room with lots of space, tables, coffee machine, microwave, sink, vending machines, and fridge/freezer.
-The supervisors understand that long hours of sitting can be painful so they allow walk breaks, stand up, etc.
-The supervisors aren't off into some unknown cove, they work right next to the rest of the agents on the phones/computers.

    Cons

The only con I had was personal, that being 8 months pregnant and only a seasonal associate I was only allowed one day to miss work otherwise I would be terminated. I started having frequent doctor's appointments so i had to reluctantly leave. I loved this place and would definitely work here again!!

    Advice to Management

May want to be a bit more flexible in time off policies for maternity etc and during winter time even if it's not paid.

    Cons

ultimately, the lack of a business model doomed the enterprise

    Pros

The people were the best asset of this company. People communicated well, had fun, were engaged and sincerely enjoyed the product. The product is a great product and a great concept. Just can't get the senior execs & BOD to make up their mind on the appropriate direction of the company.

    Cons

Growth was great, but management at the highest levels (read CEO) caused systematic failure of proven, working systems & sales. Changed market direction under false pretenses, causing the near failure of the company. Company churned through employees due to constant change in direction.

    Advice to Management

Get back to basics. Find the direction and stay on it! Stay focused. Take advantage of the people who are dedicated to the success of this company and keep them.

    Pros

Learning the details of a specialized and surprisingly complex industry.

    Cons

Very poor morale, extremely poor leadership starting with the Board of Directors from inception to date.

    Advice to Management

Maybe treating the company as something other than a hobby or a way to employ your friends and family might give it a chance. Nah, never mind, too late.

    I worked at GiftCertificates.com full-time

    Pros

The employees were nice and down to earth minus a couple, benefits were decent.

    Cons

Big company politics, IT management is rude and doesn't know how to keep cool in bad situations, dead-end job opportunities, nobody follows procedures (even the person who creates them), some employees show up to work whenever they want and don't really seem to care, no raises/performance reviews for years, no communication between the business and the IT group

    Advice to Management

Don't threaten to fire your workforce on a weekly basis; it brings down morale. Give performance reviews on a yearly basis at the very least. A lot of employees have left the company because of IT management and nobody at the company seems to care. Turnover is bad.
