I have been working at Gigster full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Very large vision and complex problem it's tackling - Learning opportunities everywhere: client needs/challenges, internal process/operations/product, etc. - A good amount of autonomy to try new things and innovate - Great coworkers - Great perks: office, lunches, gym, etc.

    Cons

    - The last year has been a period of much change with new execs, new branding and positioning and many new hires. Much of this transition is in the past now though, so clear road ahead - So many challenges to address it can be hard to prioritize and focus as a company - Transparency across the company could be improved

I have been working at Gigster full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

In spite of the toxic dive that Gigster has taken in the last 1-2 years, a good portion of the company has really some of the kindest, smartest people I've ever encountered. The pay is competitive, depending on what department you work in. And if you take public transit, getting here is a breeze on MUNI/BART.

    Cons

Ineffective HR and Operations departments. Do not overcomplicate your life by trying to resolve issues internally with them: if you're facing harassment, move on to another company. If you're facing discrimination, you, too, should move on. Retaliation? It's rampant and fairly widely accepted, so again, move on. It doesn't matter if you have written proof and 10 witnesses. It doesn't matter if the perpetrator is a bad leader, and incompetent at his/ her job: Gigster doesn't care. Like I said above, you're better off quitting. Gigster is still relatively new, and so unfortunately, you might get stuck with a manager or supervisor who essentially hit the jackpot, by being an early employee at the company, and rose through the (small) ranks because of that fact alone. As a result, you have a lot of leaders at Gigster who are just, unfortunately, some of the worst managers by standard definitions, and you unfortunately can't do anything about it, because no one on the executive team reads Glassdoor reviews. Zero accountability by the Gigster executive team to make sure that they're creating a culture that's reflective of the company mission. Oh, and *THAT* executive assistant? She's everything that previous reviews have said about her, and worse. She has the entire Gigster executive team under her spell, and they believe everything she says. Absolutely ZERO of her colleagues like or respect her, and if they do, it's because they're scared to get fired or written up/reprimanded. She has that much sway, and it's caused a lot of people in the last year to either quit, or get fired because SHE didn't like them.

I have been working at Gigster full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice environment only on the surface. Aside from the paid lunches and great proximity to BART, this is just like most tech offices in the area.

    Cons

I honestly do not know where to start. I've wasted the last two years of my life working for this worthless company. They NEVER promote from within. They always outsource anyone in the management position. The end result? Stupid, incompetent people managing all the departments. All of their managers know nothing on how the company runs, nor how to process anything. Hence, the turnover rates are high all across the board. Everything that has been said about the executive assistant here is unfortunately true. Gigster lost three office managers in 2019 alone, because of her. One was promoted to the Marketing Department, while her much-beloved male replacement lasted from May-August 2019, and then he quit on-the-spot because of said EA's shenanigans and gossip. He was followed by a temp, who left for the same reasons. Management refuses to acknowledge how she manipulates the Gigster culture, throws colleagues under the bus, and walks around the office with a pissed-off expression and sarcastic attitude. I don’t know how this company survives. Their sales are not impressive at all, compared to their competitors. I wouldn’t be surprised if this company shuts down anytime soon. Please do not work here.

I worked at Gigster full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Beautiful office / office location - Competitive Pay - Good benefits

    Cons

    - New executive team couldn't find their way out of a paper bag when it comes to understanding what clients want - Execs work in an echo-chamber of lies. They sit around all day telling each other what they want to hear and don't understand the market at all - Execs are responsible of 75% of the gossip and drama - No consequences for missed numbers - No consequences for bad hires - No investment in culture. Office was constantly empty. - They've completely isolated and ignored their "elite talent network" - The new branding is just lipstick on a pig - nothing has changed.

I worked at Gigster full-time for more than a year

    Pros

+ Grassroots movement to improve the culture + Smart and talented individual contributors + Great location + Solid perks and benefits + YC backed

    Cons

    - Toxic culture stemming from the executives - Red tape and blockers that makes it impossible to implement new processes - Executives have their own agenda. Every single detail has become political - Unjustified fires and layoffs - Extreme lack of transparency - Unsupportive managers with no direction and guidance - Fear tactics - Lack of diversity, especially in sales - Corporate policies that stripped the startup mentality and environment - Executives are not being held accountable for their failures. Every quarter they had shifted priorities into a different department to solve their issues

I worked at Gigster full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-The new office has a great view -Free food everyday from eat club

    Cons

-Unprofessional Executive Assistant, like previous reviews ( power hungry, very dramatic and attention seeker). Doesn’t have a positive attitude and always negative. Fake smiles and fake relationships with people. She’s been there the longest and completely manipulates the culture and the executives. -Executives are not approachable and are very hard to get in touch with. They most likely WFH most of the weeks and it’s hard to get a face to face with them. However, they don’t appreciate or allow their teams to WFH. -Hours are long at gigster, no work-life balance. Say goodbye to your family and friend and expect to work from 8:30am-8pm. It’s such a sad and depressing culture, no one seems to be happy because everyone is over worked and under paid. -Only one HR employee, nice and understanding. But really need to step up and work on gigsters culture. He knows the issues and sees people being mistreated, but hasn’t done much to fix/ help employees in need. Alot of people get fired at Gigster because some executives dont like them under the influence of that one executive assistant. Makes it very tough to fight for what you believe in because the executives are blinding themselves to see the real truth. -Alot of “missed” numbers by the executives each quarter. No money is coming in and they are trying to borrow money from multiple VC’s and have failed. How long do you think gigster is going to last with borrowing money? They need to work on making money with there so called “best executive” team. What is the future of Gigster, if no executive is bring in money? Really think about if you really want to work here, no growth, no support and around fake executives. Your better off running away from Gigster and have self-respect.

I have been working at Gigster full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Free food everyday (eat club) -$150 commuter benefit -Office view is nice

    Cons

Not sure where to really begin, if you read all the negative reviews all are 100% accurate. No one is making up lies to bring down gigster. There is no culture at Gigster, everyone is power hungry, especially one Executive assistant who’s been there for a year. She is self-centered, manipulative and power hungry. Not to mention right when you try to have a conversation with her, all she wants to do is gossip and starts unnecessary drama. There is always something with her, never happy and never uplifts the culture, it’s very depressing. Executives at Gigster’s are very unapproachable and very self-centered, most of them work from home for weeks and are never in the office. If you’re trying to get time with them good luck, you either get time over the phone or VC. They only care about themselves and not their employees/ team members. No to mention, gigster has no money, they are highly relying on venture capital debt money, but spend close to half a million dollars on rebranding there logo. During the rebranding time, the CMO was very unprofessional and rude to her team, we would consistently hear her yelling at her team members across the office. If I’m being very transparent it feels like they’re firing people left and right to save money somehow, I left right after the re-branding and never been stress-free. If you like to work for a company, who doesn’t value your grown and career, likes to blame other for their faults, have alot of power issues and have zero respect for you, then this is a perfect place for you. Please read all the reviews before considering to apply here, you can find a better work-life balance somewhere else, because gigster doesn’t value family time or work-life balance. While the executives are entitle to work from home whenever, they expect their teams to be at work from 8am-8pm. Go apply at a company who is financially stable and values you.

I have been working at Gigster full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A couple of years ago, there we a lot of bright passionate people working at Gigster. The company certainly had startup issues, but the energy was undeniable and it was exciting. The Gigster model had some initial small successes, but never materialized into a bigger success. One major customer/alliance brings the vast majority of revenue.

    Cons

Since the company wasn't growing, the investors brought in an 'A Team' to make this company 'good to great' a year ago. Understandably there was an initial massive layoff to rebuild the company. The new 'C levels' brought in the best and brightest of SV. Unfortunately they haven't changed anything. Revenue is still declining despite the fact that Gigster has gone through over 30 salespeople and only a handful have ever made quota. The leaders are quick to fire people and often reminding staff of that fact. There has been such an exodus that the massive office floor is now sadly barely occupied. In the last 12 months, there has been three re-messaging efforts (and a $250K logo redesign) but the market still isn't buying the model. Even most of the projects that have been delivered have had issues.
