    Pros

Good hours. And also good incentives, with opportunities of growth throughout the company.

    Cons

Hard to advance throughout the company, a long time to process promotions.

    Advice to Management

Give people opportunities to advance positions within the company, instead of just picking someone who has been there the longest.

I have been working at Gildan Activewear full-time

    Pros

Analyst level employees are good to work with, very young and fun.
    Not much more Pros

    Cons

Upper management does not treat workers like people. Forced to work overtime especially weekends, budget more important than life itself. Low pay for work. Favoritism within departments is ridiculous, no promotions for meaningful results. Just for how brown your nose is. Sales and forecasting departments are worst with having terrible leadership at manager and director level.

    Pros

All is based of procedures, great quality systems, great environment, people-convinient decisions,

    Cons

    Pros

You can learn a lot, but even that is restricted.

    Cons

Poor benefits, not flexible, they care more about bottom line and budgets then the actual employees.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Charleston, SC

I have been working at Gildan Activewear (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I love the people I work with, and the environment is fast-paced and challenging, so you're never feeling stagnant or bored. You can apply for an inexpensive membership to O2 Fitness (ESAC), which is only $9/month, and I can typically get away at lunch to go work out because there is a gym close by. There is a lot of room for upward movement in Sales, so work hard and you will be noticed.

    Cons

There is very little training, so if you are not self-motivated then this may not be for you. You pretty much get thrown into everything right away - kind of a sink or swim atmosphere. They do not allow sitting on yoga balls in place of chairs or stand-up desks.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time on training new employees and there will be less turnover, especially the young ones that come to Gildan straight from college.
