    Pros

Strong financials. You can grow in company if you work hard and fit in. Global business experience. Ethical company.

    Cons

Comes down to profit, making quarterly sales. Different offices around the globe have different vacation packages. For instance- corporate in Montreal gets 2 weeks for the holidays and USA gets 2 days. Very corporate office culture although they say they are entrepreneurial.

    Advice to Management

    More flexible working accommodations

I really enjoyed working the early morning hours because I had the rest of my day to myself. 6:30 Am to 2:30 Pm.

    Cons

The pay is not competitive at all. They do not offer raises based upon performance. You can not leave the building on lunch break.

    Advice to Management

    Offer competitive pay.

I worked at Gildan Activewear (Less than a year)

    Pros

    30 minute lunch break
Lucky to have an fantastic supervisor
Easy job to get, they will hire anybody
    Security guards near entrance

    Cons

A younger crowd, a lot of blacks and Hispanics working in warehouse (not much diversity) gossipy job since there is a lot young people working there. Pay not good, but they try (supervisor) they best to work with you. Typical warehouse job not for a career

    Advice to Management

It is a warehouse job with people constantly coming and leaving, Not a career, so for what it is, I guess it's decent. Young folks, seriously stay to yourself, do not indulge in the drama.

I have been working at Gildan Activewear (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I love the people I work with, and the environment is fast-paced and challenging, so you're never feeling stagnant or bored. You can apply for an inexpensive membership to O2 Fitness (ESAC), which is only $9/month, and I can typically get away at lunch to go work out because there is a gym close by. There is a lot of room for upward movement in Sales, so work hard and you will be noticed.

    Cons

There is very little training, so if you are not self-motivated then this may not be for you. You pretty much get thrown into everything right away - kind of a sink or swim atmosphere. They do not allow sitting on yoga balls in place of chairs or stand-up desks.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time on training new employees and there will be less turnover, especially the young ones that come to Gildan straight from college.
