I worked at Gill Industries (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of work to do. Floor personnel are good to with.

    Cons

Little or no management help--no one has your back. English is not the 2nd or 3rd language spoken. INS should be contacted to verify employment. Working 7 days a week with no end in sight.

    Advice to Management

Actually help with resources and education to accomplish tasks. Create a career track for non family members.

I worked at Gill Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Shop floor operators are really nice and helpful.

    Cons

Management is poor and in constant turnover.

    Advice to Management

Find leaders to manage that are respectful of their subordinates. Find leaders that do more than preach a Sunday sermon and talk about how great THEY are and how sub standard you are. Poorest leadership I have ever seen anywhere.

    Advice to Management

If you are in need of a job in richmond ky go elsewhere!they dont care if you have 3 decades of experience, they promise you a permanent job (my wife and i)and place you with a two bit manufacturer of subpar auto parts with unsafe working conditions ,can you after 90 days and black ball you if you complain sooner.this place was riddled with drugs most supplied by the staff randstad sent that had blew thru a nonexistent drug test..both the temp agency and the main factory are run by immoral, lieing, children that will tell you anything to produce and if you expect professional treatment your gone.if you have been victomized by these companys join me and call the state labor board, consumer protection agency, osha, governors office.this bunch needs shutting down!!! Pros

    Few.
Some good people, some great, and some that ruin the whole mix.
Most of my paychecks were good and complete

    Cons

Management won't listen and make needed improvements.
    Managers can't manage
People are giving up more each day.
& how many times will employees be told - "Oh sorry, our system had a glitch and last weeks overtime wasn't accounted for in this weeks payroll. We'll pay you next payroll cycle."

    Advice to Management

Get experienced and capable Managers in Engineering, Production, HR, Quality, Production Control.

    Pros

Close to Chattanooga and its attractions.

    Cons

Compensation and benefits are below other Tier 1 suppliers; production employees are not cared for; short on recognition; employees feel they are a foster child of MI Corporate/Family; old equipment that needs constant repairs; internal processes are weak and often are not followed. Main reasons most issues: lack of re-investment in the people and plant.

    Advice to Management

Rely less on "geniuses", and come to Trenton 5-6 times a year to meet with employees..
