    Pros

Working with the other Gilly Hicks retail associates was a great and fun experience. You become a Gilly Hicks family and it's a rewarding experience when a customer appreciates all the help you have given them

    Cons

Management can be extremely unprofessional at times. Customers can be rude especially around the holidays when the store is packed with others trying to get there shopping done.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the professionalism, not just around the customers, but around the associates as well.

I worked at Gilly Hicks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are some employee discounts available, but considering everything is relatively cheap and always on sale anyway, it doesn't say much. The only truly good thing about working here is they are very flexible with your hours and schedule, so if you are a student or have another job it is pretty easy to manage.

    Cons

First and utmost - the pay is the minimum wage of your state. Standing on hardwood floors for hours with thin flip flops also will take its toll on your feet over time. They make you buy a new uniform for every new season of clothing. Management was rude and obsessed with ratings rather than helping around the store, or training employees. Some girls were nice, but the type that work here I found tended to be catty and superficial. Considering the pay, there are much better jobs out there to dedicate your time to.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers that have had prior experience managing stores, not just anyone with a college degree. Actually train new employees - that goes for sales associates and managers.

    Cons

    Pros

    They do promoting from within

    Cons

It takes forever to get promotions unless you have a degree

    Advice to Management

They should give people who are students a chance while still in school to get promoted.

I worked at Gilly Hicks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can get 50% discount on only full priced items (limited amount). Overall, the job is easy.

    Cons

Call-ins are the worst. Work can get boring after a while. Learning everything in the beginning can be overwhelming, but you pick it up fast. But you'd be surprised how many mistakes you can make!

I worked at Gilly Hicks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great way to meet other peers. All my coworkers were around my age (20) and we bonded

    Cons

The managers were very snobby and seemed to pick on people. Think of the popular girls in high school.
