    Pros

    Flexible and open for change
    Good Culture

    Cons

    Lack of transparency at times which further decreased after buyout.
    Minimal to no growth opportunity
    Recent health care benefit change is poor
    Raises under HBC may be minimal if not a thing of the past moving forward

    Advice to Management

    Show more appreciation for your management team before they leave.

    Pros

    Early out day before holiday weekends & holidays off for corporate positions, flexible vacation

    Cons

    Poor communication amongst various locations, continuously declining perks (lowering employee discount, removal of some paid holidays, no more annual raises, etc), poorly established processes.
    I used to LOVE working at Gilt...until it was bought out by HBC.

    Advice to Management

    Improve communication about projects and plans. Appreciate your associates more: re-instate raises, make advancement easier, plan for position eliminations so processes and projects aren't entirely lost when someone leaves, improve health care - such a large company should be able to negotiate better rates.

    All the people that I work with or nice friendly and we all get along

    Cons

    We have to work every holiday except one and they keep changing everything around every year so we're always constantly changing stuff

    Advice to Management

    If it is working fine the way it is leave it alone

    Pros

    Used to be a great work environment,
    Used to have great benefits and opportunities for growth. Hopefully they still have a chance to bring back these qualities in the coming year.

    Cons

    Since being acquired all focus has been out towards cost savings measures, they have put no effort toward retaining the talent that has made the company a success in the first place.

    Advice to Management

    The definition of insanity is doing the same thing every day and expecting different results.

    Value the humans who are coming in to work for you everyday, start to foster growth and advancement on your teams and allocating them the resources necessary to do their jobs before it is too late.

    Pros

    - Passionate, incredibly intelligent colleagues.
    - Eagerness to innovate and get ideas off the ground.
    - Fast-paced environment.

    Cons

    - Rampant favoritism/nepotism: legacy employees and managers will sooner listen to colleagues with whom they already have established relationships than newer members of the team.
    - Management stubborn/resistant to feedback.
    - Very blame-oriented, rather than solution-oriented culture. When something goes wrong, people will spend so much time trying to find the culprit, rather than working to address the issue at hand.
    - No work-life balance - no matter how hard you work do get your work done on your own terms and make room for your personal life (busy season or not), it never seems to be enough.

    Advice to Management

    Stop pushing new talent away. Your nepotism and defensive attitudes are pushing talented new hires away to companies that will value their input and ideas.

    Flexible time off, creative people, nice office locations

    The corporate culture that made Gilt what it was was lost when the company was acquired by HBC, a lot of empty promises have been made, not very competitive pay, very clique-y

    Advice to Management

    Take a second to reflect on what used to make employees so excited to come to this office in the morning and get us back to that.

    Amazing time off policy, great cross banner discount, some nice people

    Cons

    Awful management, low pay, rigorous work schedule, terrible upper management, grunt work. Gilt used to have an amazing corporate culture, but it lost it once it was acquired by HBC. It's a very clique-y environment.

    Advice to Management

    This could take a while.

    Pros

    Gilt has a great core of managers and good hourly employees. You always feel welcomed among your peers and there are great culture events.

    Cons

    Due to the business model, you must be aware that there are a lot of last-minute changes to your workload and you mist adapt on the fly.

    Advice to Management

    Continue the engagement push that's been in effect the last few months. Employees want to know as much information about the operation as possible.

    Cons

    I worked with Gilt for over 2 years as a freelance stylist. After it was acquired by HBC (the devil) I started to have issues with compensation. I was either compensated months later or not at all.

    When I asked them to compensate me correctly, they stopped responding to my emails.

    Don't work here!! Ever since the transition it has been a hell hole. From incompetent managers to horrible and unprofessional staff.

    Most of there full time staff quit.

    Advice to Management

    Respect freelancers more and maintains Gilts image. HBC ruined Gilt.
