    Pros

Gilt has a great core of managers and good hourly employees. You always feel welcomed among your peers and there are great culture events.

    Cons

Due to the business model, you must be aware that there are a lot of last-minute changes to your workload and you mist adapt on the fly.

    Advice to Management

Continue the engagement push that's been in effect the last few months. Employees want to know as much information about the operation as possible.

I worked at Gilt Groupe (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It was great while it lasted. I'm not sure the tech team commands the respect it once did, but there's still some great talent there to learn from.

    Cons

The future of the company is uncertain. The business is very difficult when competing against companies like Amazon with ridiculous scale.

I worked at Gilt Groupe full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Smartest group of people I've had the pleasure to work with. Great team environment and a true passion to build something amazing.

    Cons

Very tough to make profitable....continuous focus on cost reductions can get tedious. Industry is very competitive and negatively affected company value.

    Advice to Management

It was a great run working there, and HBC got a great deal.

    Pros

Great work environment, culture, and office space. Established intern program with weekly information sessions that teach you everything about the company from the ground up.

    Cons

Tedious work, always in the office, always at your desk

    Advice to Management

    Include interns in meetings

I have been working at Gilt Groupe full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you have the drive and will- pushing for change from within is both fun and rewarding. This is a great place to build your career.

    Cons

Alignment can sometimes take longer than it should.

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on executing the strategy laid out.

I worked at Gilt Groupe as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is very personable: there are numerous opportunities to shadow in different departments and learn about all the moving parts of a business. They really encourage everyone to take ownership of their projects.

    Cons

This is not necessarily a con but more of a suggestion for you to get the most out of your experience: ask questions and ask for different opportunities. They want you to learn so tell them what you're interested in.

    Advice to Management

As an intern, there's not too much advice I could give! Management was very open with employees and tried to create a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.

    Pros

Really in-depth program where you get to learn about every department of the company, office culture is very young and there is a lot of collaboration between teams, all higher-ups are very welcoming and approachable (the ceo sits in a cubicle just like the rest of us and is always available to schedule meetings with or grab coffee with)

    Cons

no compensation for interns, there is a lot of room for independence which can be both a pro and a con -- depends on your levels of independence
