I have been working at Gilt Groupe full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good culture, flexible work hours, unlimited vacation.

    Cons

Poor work life balance, low pay, ineffective executive leadership.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention on what is slowing the business down internally instead of being focused on customer acquisition.

I worked at Gilt Groupe full-time

    Pros

smart people, ambitious plans and strong company culture. Gilt was one of the biggest and most promising tech startup hubs back in the 2010s.

    Cons

    - lots of in-fighting between business units
    - big egos and silo'ed approach between groups
    - doubled down on the flash sale model when it needed a strong pivot

    Advice to Management

After the acquisition, focus on thriving in a larger eco system instead of trying to return to its glory days five years ago. Provide customers with what they really want - great merch at a discount.

    Pros

The company has solid, supportive management and brilliant CTO. Gilt Groupe also has a very fun office culture and coworkers tend to be fun and easy to get along with. And it is a "sexy" company to work for.

    Cons

The work can be a bit routine at times. There is not a terrible abundance of novel projects for those working on backend systems.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring good management that is skilled at creating collaborative, supportive work environments. And keep having great Halloween parties.

    Pros

Had the opportunity of working with all members of the Gilt City team. It is a great work environment and employees are constantly innovative. As an intern I was mainly responsible for contacting vendors and putting together all the small details prior to the event. We also had weekly meetings with top member of the Gilt team for advice.

    Cons

It was very long hours which became hard after having no pay. It was also hard to stay busy while at work if there wasn't any upcoming events.

    Advice to Management

Great job working with all the interns to make sure we were making the most of our experience. With our end of the internship project we were able to show everything we learned throughout the 3 months.

Young environment, rapid change & passion and dedication behind work produced by all levels of employees.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

With the dynamic nature of the business, not many people in management roles take the time to invest and grow their people. The turn over would be much less if people took the time to mold and grow current talent
