    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Girl Scouts USA

    Pros

    - amazing work-life balance - supportive team & company culture - great cause

    Cons

    - not for profit compensation - no 401k at the moment & no pension - no tuition reimbursement

    Advice to Management

If you would like to develop your staff, then you need to institue tuition reimbursement programs.

  2. "Great Organization with Long History"

Former Employee - Consultant in New York, NY

I worked at Girl Scouts USA for more than 2 years

      Pros

Great people who maintain life/work balance. Executive leadership cares about its staff.

      Cons

I was a contractor, so not really fair for me to criticise. If anything, communication, particularly those difficult, end-of-project conversations, should be more timely.

      Advice to Management

      Keep up the great work.

      Negative Outlook
      No opinion of CEO

I worked at Girl Scouts USA for more than 4 years

      Pros

Great mission, always involved in doing great things for girls.

      Cons

Not keeping great employees. Organization is being whittled down to nothing. Constant reorgs. Outsourcing alot of jobs.

      Advice to Management

Keep your loyal emloyees. They are what made you great.

      "Incredible Purpose; Poor Leadership"

      Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Girl Scouts USA

      Pros

The organization works to develop leadership of girls. I love the larger mission and purpose of the organization.

      Cons

The leadership feels strongly about the mission of the organization. They have difficulty making strategic decisions. They want desperately to "be nice" which has created a sort of "Wild Wild West" environment for the rest of us.

      Advice to Management

Hire leaders who are able to lead to the future, not from the past.
