      Pros

Inclusive environment that strives to empower each other and encourage growth through honesty and transparency. Focus on offering a variety of professional development opportunities and benefits for employees with a culture of encouraging transparency and feedback. Senior leadership strives to be approachable. staff works hard to provide excellence because the mission of the work is clear and tangible. Front line staff is phenomenal and works hard to provide girls with excellent role models and experiences. Awesome time off and flexible work environment with a four day work week-although some departments work quite a few weekends based on the season.

      Cons

Lower pay-but working to fix that and offers good benefits to help offset that Some burnout present Small teams with a large workload Not much space to move up due to long tenure in senior leadership team which can also be a positive

GSSEF regularly posts pay ranges in our job postings. In 2022, we filled three of eight full time roles through internal promotion. Also in 2022, we offered cost of living increases, a temporary transit subsidy when gas prices when sky-high, and conducted a compensation study that is being implemented. Further, we require all employees to have a professional development goal each year, budget professional development dollars for each position, and provide additional training and development opportunities through an online learning management system and at all team meetings. In addition, many of the trainers we utilize are suggested by team members. We also provide adjusted time off to exempt employees who work on the weekend, for use within two weeks of the weekend work, to promote rest and balance.

      Property Manager

As a leasing agent for two years, I then worked my way to assistant manager for t 11 months. Then, to a property manager position, nine months into my new role as manager, I was terminated, with no warning, completely unexpected. How do I explain this undeserving action and embarrassment in an upcoming interview without any risk in the decision-making of my employment with the company I am interested in? I hope I am relaying this in a way that is understood.
