    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Glacier Bancorp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, lots of great benefits for employees including loan programs and tuition assistance, growing company, engaged leadership

    Cons

Is a busy work environment. This is not a job for you if you are looking to do the minimal amount of work.

    Advice to Management

Keep engaging with the staff and showing your appreciation to the employees in each location. This gets more challenging as we continue to grow.

I worked at Glacier Bancorp (More than a year)

    Pros

Glacier Bank was the best place I have ever worked. Great co-workers, wonderful supervisors and manager, and the bank takes very good care of it's employees.

    Cons

I transferred to a sister bank, First Security Bank in another town and it was nothing at all like Glacier Bank. Although they are a part of the same company, they are completely different in how they treat their employees.

    Pros

Small bank with capable managment and access to capital. Layers of managment are relatively low.

    Cons

Minimal infastructure in place for commerial lenders. Much of the day to day needs of customers are put on the back of the lenders while they are also expected to grow their existing portfolio.

    Advice to Management

Increase support for commercial lenders, i.e. 1 lending assistant per officer, stream line other duties to back end support.

I worked at Glacier Bancorp full-time

    Pros

Company strives to hire the best people to fill teams. You can always see that even with growth their primary focus is on customers and employees. Great incentives and extra perks. Overall great company!

    Cons

I did not have any problems with this company and would work with them again in the future.

    Advice to Management

    Amazing job recognizing talent

I have been working at Glacier Bancorp full-time

    Pros

I've only been with one of their subsidiaries for a short time, but I do enjoy the support of management. With the consolidation project to streamline the 17 divisions, I am hoping for more consistency.

    Cons

We are in a small town and don't have access to a lot of training, or support staff. Each employee needs to wear many hats!

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work on the consolidation, and maybe offer those of in small towns a little more money, considering all of the jobs we need to do!

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

There is always something to do; Glacier is a growing company that will continue to acquire new banks and add more to its portfolio.

    Cons

It is pretty evident that Glacier doesn't know how to grow effectively. Most 'C' level employees have grown up with the company or were additions through acquisition; for Glacier to effectively grow and compete in the market the executive team needs to be re-evaluated for competency. Bring in some new blood, get rid of those who drag the company down and Glacier will be a force to be reckoned with.

    Advice to Management

Bonuses are good, pay for the folks behind the curtain is not so good. Consider reworking your advancement plans to give a direct and clear path for those who want to stay with the company. Don't be afraid to train your staff and celebrate their successes, would you rather risk losing a highly qualified staff member or have a bunch of people who don't care about personal development?

I have been working at Glacier Bancorp full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Solid company fincancially. Has not gotten so large as to have employees become a simply a number. Solid benefits. Work like balance is pretty good, although long hours are sometimes necessary

    Cons

Sometimes slow to make changes in response to industry.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to folks on the ground.

    Pros

Glacier has a good health plan, with a 401k and profit sharing for employees. Management seems to care about employees.

    Cons

Distance involved between the eleven different Banks that are under the Glacier Bancorp direction, Senior management does not get to their Banks much.

    Advice to Management

Keep in better touch with each individual bank, and try to get more aquainted with each operation.
