    Pros

I've been a member of the Glass Apps team for almost 9 years and it has been such an honor to be a part of the growth we have experienced during that time period. We have a phenomenal team in which EVERYONE strives to be their very best and provide the best quality finished product possible.

    Pros

none, this place is a waste of your potential.

    Cons

you cross train with no wage increases, your pay is already low compared to other companies, there's lots of things that can go wrong with the product, The CEO has no idea what he's doing on the rare appearances he actually makes, no company structure, no care for employee health.

    Great company

Aug 6, 2019 - Senior Marketing Manager in New York, NY

    Pros

Glass Apps is a relatively small company with under 20 employees at the time of this review. They have a really cool product, that definitely has the "wow" factor when seen. Because of their size, they are more agile and can quickly make decisions for growth without being bogged down by the red-tape and approval processes of a corporate entity. I have found everyone to be kind, helpful and I enjoy working here at Glass Apps. One of the biggest "Pros" of being here is the massive potential that this company has. It's always great to be a part of a company that's growing.

    Cons

So far so Good. There are no "Cons" worth mentioning

Absolute worst work experience in my 16 yr career

    Pros

The people that work there are the only pro. They do a great job of getting the product out the door despite a broken production process.

    Cons

The CEO is hands down the biggest negative to the company. If you read the previous reviews, I can tell you things have not changed. He is still paranoid everyone is out to get him. He is still not engaged in the company's growth. He still doesn't trust anyone. He is and will be the sole reason for the company's failure. Here's why: His lack of trust won't allow him to take feedback from anyone within the organization. If it's not his idea, it's not a good idea. Yet he has no problem telling any one there that it is his company and he can run how he wants. The conflict comes when he complains about how many hours a day he has to work on the business. The problem is, no one knows what he's working on. He is not working on a marketing plan because there isn't one in place. He's not working on analytics of the company to see where the growth is at because there is no clear strategy or directive for the company. He is not working on promoting the company. I know this personally because I had scheduled meetings with architects that he would not attend on my behalf. What owner of a company says that to a sales rep? He has no problem telling people it's his company, but won't take an appointment to grow the company? Makes absolutely no sense at all. His paranoia has created such a massive lack of trust within the whole organization the sales team and the production bicker amongest themselves just to get deals done. It's a constent battle within to remain competitive in the market. His lack of leadership at every level has the whole team creates new challenges the team has to deal with on a daily basis. Not only is the comp plan heavily weight for the benefit of the company, the lack of marketing, strategy and clear leadership make it extremely difficult for the company to be competitive in the market overall. Making it extremely difficult for the sales reps to make sales.

    Pros

Glass Apps is the best school for anyone that wants to be independent at their work and great for people with entrepreneurial spirit. The company structure is flat enough that you can have close conversations with the CEO and VP which allows for a great experience. I have been working at Glass Apps for close to 5 years. When the company started in Salt Lake City it was only 6 people and it has grown very much but it still maintains that Startup feeling. The product is amazing, super easy to sell because of its wow factor so that makes the job easy and the commission structure is a great percentage when you meet the qualifiers. The VP of sales has the best temperament I have ever seen in a supervisor, he will coach you and if always fair. The CEO believes in you and allows you to execute your own strategies which is amazing because you have a word in what you do.

    Cons

Glass Apps has had very bad luck with certain employees that don't have the grit and pride in the company that a startup requires and working with them has been difficult because they don't get things done and someone has to do them, since it's a small company.

    Drama, mistrust, stress..

    Pros

Hmm let me think... I guess location! Nice people in the building. High security in the building. I can’t think of anything else..

    Cons

CEO expects you to fix everything while he isn’t helping you with things that only he has control of. You work with your hands being tied.. Constant phobia and paranoia put things on hold forever. CEO thinks that everyone is trying to rob him. He expects everyone to comply with his policies while he isn’t following anyone else’s... Be prepared to sit in the office with him for hours and get nothing done, while he is doing circles around something that is ‘urgent’ to him. This was a sarcasm. Important stuff doesn’t get done, while unimportant is all he talks about. Next thing you get is him blaming you for something you gave him but he didn’t approve (for no real reason). Just stay away. Or if you get through insults and waste of time, maybe he’ll give you more power over your job. Watch you say in the office as he is listening (and I mean it) to everything you say and talk about. Bring your own coffee, he is too cheap to buy it for the staff.

Lots of potential. Struggling to break the plateau.

    Pros

Monday through Friday. Potential salary increases vary by doing good work. Small competition allows for the company to shine for their product. Tons of potential to explode in the industry.

    Cons

Very inconsistent work flow. Upper management is either over involved or totally disconnected. Stressful work environment due to unclear guidelines as to how many employees are needed in what department. Strange culture throughout the company though some very skilled production workers and sales people are around. High turnover. Offices in salt lake, New York, and Columbia cause severe communication issues.

    Waste Of Time

    Pros

The only pro was the people I interacted with in the elevators from the other floors while going to the office every morning and leaving every evening.

    Cons

Crud, this place is a wreck. No real end goal of what the end result is going to be or should be. You have people working long days with no breaks, smoke breaks do not count as part of the lunch hour. There is no real upper mgmt, only the CEO who strolls in whatever time he wants and sits you down for multiple hours just to listen to him ramble on why he is doing things the way he is or needs to be updated on stuff he should know, wasting people's time and energy. If you hire someone, make sure you have an idea of what they are supposed to be doing, not just have them stroll into work everyday for nothing. Can't say they have an extended line of products when they really don't, competitors have many options and sample kits while this company has zero.

Second negative review from the same contractor. We are of the opinion, that the tenor, content and quality of writing in this person's review speaks volumes, as to why, this person is no longer with us. Professional, non malicious and fair critiques are always welcome. Sincerely, Glass Apps®

    Most Unprofessional Place by far

    Pros

I cant seem to find one. Oh I know .... there is a great restaurant right across the street from the office called STK that is the only pro I can come up with

    Cons

Boss strolls in at what ever time he deems fit. Usually some time after 2pm. Calls for meetings to begin at 7pm due to offices in different time zone. Meetings finish some time after 9pm. Never once offers the employees a meal or even a cracker for staying this late. No thanks even though I was paid a flat salary. When he does finally stroll in you have to sit and listen to his long winded chats which are irreverent to the day or business for that matter. His paranoia is absolutely ludicrous. I watched multiple staff leave due to bad management / long hours and just total unprofessional work atmosphere. There are no perks what so ever in this company. Stay away!!!
