    Cons

Poor management, with hardly management skills. Lack of vision and strategy. Poor to no communication. High turnover rate, management who tells one after another lie.

    Pros

Lot of experience and new knowledge,

    Cons

Top management dont communicate with employees. He just stay in his office. Many european guy here dont know Asian culture of work. They think they always right.
The worst of all, CEO make decision to close the company overnight!! No downsize, just close!! Can you imagine?? Then all employee have to sign the mutual resignation letter ,if not no last salary will be given. In contract of employment, the notice of termination should be 3 months. So beware of this guy, named Christoper strauch.

    Advice to Management

To ceo: chris, please wait the summon from the labor's deparment.
To nova founder: better close office also.

    Pros

You get to be your own boss, literally you are. Let me explain, the company is structured in a way that you have your set of task and outcomes to be achieved, but you have the flexibility to come up with your own ways to achieving it, so far as its in line with the company’s business model. This is something you wouldn’t get in most other Ecommerce companies. And to be fair there are times where you can do this to the extent you would like. But then again you still have the flexibility you would need to bring out that genius side of you that’s in a closet.

Having worked for the other Big Ecommerce companies in KL, there is always one thing that makes GlassesGroupGlobal stand out, it’s the staffs. It’s like having handpicked individuals come together to work for a company. They are friendly and very helpful at work and as well as off working hours, and did I say the company compromises of multi-racial staffs.

Opportunities are endless, I enhanced my business acumen within months of working here. I wasn’t so business inclined at first but relating with other departments and colleagues I learnt a whole lot.

    From, Making extensive Business Analysis,
-Integrating Business Intelligence to help your decision making,
-Making Complicated Pivot tables & to display Big Data in an excel dashboard with the right filters.

Down to the technical part, API integration with various marketplaces,
-Coming up with concepts for internal pricing tools.

Best past was that I learnt enough to the extent that I recommended API upgrade to one of the Big marketplaces in South East Asia and they took my ideas and made the necessary upgrade. My CV is super potent all cause of the opportunity i got working here.

    Cons

Just like you’re your own boss, you have to struggle atimes to stay afloat as you might have little or no supervision atimes. But being optimistic solves this, but not for everyone.

Atimes the office gets too cold, and I can’t really work efficiently when am struggling with the cold. If you’re not used to cold weather, then few atimes you might have this issue. But there are spots where aren’t that cold.

Lately, you get limited or no news as to the direction the company is headed. Previously it was done every month where we get news about the mission ad vision and as well as financial status. All those soothing news. But now it’s sort of abolished and doesn’t keep you in check to see if its heading in the same direction you want your future to be heading.

    Advice to Management

Just have to give abit more insight as to where the company is headed. Also there are few others avenues to increase staff retention that hasn't been explored and as well as show staff appreciation.

Other than that, good job to the company management.

I have been working at GlassesGroupGlobal full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great atmosphere inside and between departments
    - The turnover has been reduced and teams are now more stable
    - Good relationship with the management
    - The company is still growing up
    - Still a lot to do and to learn

    Cons

    - The company has stop to skyrocket (but is still growing up)
    - Lack of information about the actual and next strategy of the company

    Advice to Management

It would be great to have from time to time, some insights about:
    - the actual strategy of the company
    - the future strategies of the company (new products, new countries, new way of selling, etc.)

This could be done through a meeting every 3 months or just by an email.

It is always good to know Where we're going and Why.

    Pros

I like that I am trusted with the responsibilities and given the freedom to improve my channel performance. The team is great - really friendly bunch and always willing to help.

The management definitely keeps you on your toes and pushes you out of your comfort zone. If you like challenges, want to have a steep learning curve, in general willing to put in extra effort, and excited to grow, this is definitely the place to work.

    Cons

Under-performers who nag about everything. Glad they're out anyway.

I have been working at GlassesGroupGlobal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked with GlassesGroupGlobal in Kuala Lumpur for 1.5 years and have real life experienced how the company has evolved from a small team in a crowded and hot little office cramped full of people to a global company active in 15 markets across Asia, Australia and Europe. To be honest, there were times when I really didn`t like it, but bottom line and looking backwards, I really enjoyed working there. I left the company last autumn to start my own venture with some friends. Now that I run my own company I can really see how much my learnings from Glasses are helping me today. Building a company from scratch is a lot about bringing structure into an unstructured environment. Glasses has done a tremendous transition from its very early days to where it stands today. And I am proud to have been able to contribute my little part to it. `

    Cons

As mentioned there were times when I really didn`t like it. The constant focus on performing and getting sales up every single week and months is at times over demanding. But now that I am running my own company, I am expecting the same from my staff. As a junior in Glasses however I did not always see the bigger picture. So overall ok. But painful at times.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time with the team outside the office by organising offsite events and more informal get togethers. I still have many friends from my time at Glasses from back. But I feel it could be done even more in terms of company culture. Focus not only on the KPIs.

    Pros

The team is great. There is always a talent and a helping hand everywhere.

    Cons

While the team is great, the same cannot be said about the management. Obviously the term startup is not for them to use anymore, as they been in online space for roughly 3 years they should by now already be stable and give proper direction. The big boss will change direction every few month, simply whack hire fire and keep having different mindsets. He only talk to white people. Its wannabe startup with no startup culture. Also, turnover super high- not employee fault. This co have bad reputation in market for both working there as well as for customer- the product is always late. The boss really cannot make it- it is a matter of time before they shut down. Please reconsider if you ever want apply this company- unless u know how to lick shoes and keep smiling then dont try.

    Advice to Management

Please value your staffs. they are talented. They are your talent pool. Stop abusing them. Maybe some direction will be good.

I have been working at GlassesGroupGlobal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Since I have joined this company has changed A LOT. Good or Bad, I'll let you decide, but here are the hard facts:

When I joined just over a year ago there were a lot of employees who were unable to work independently and unwilling to get their hands dirty with the difficult work.

Slowly these people started to leave and the company & culture started to evolve. Working here, it's not everyone. If you're expecting to have your hand held and to constantly be told what to do, this is not the place for you. If you want an environment where you're left to work incredibly independently, where you're empowered and respected all the same, a company where you can make a real difference and even be recognized for your work, this is the place to be!

The pros of working in this company - The learning opportunities.

Since I had joined i had learned how to:

    - Set up new markets (From Nigeria all the way to South America)
    - How to handle external partners internationally
    - How to make money off multiple International Marketplaes
    - How to be make money off multiple International Deal Sites
    - How to lead a team
    - How to manage digital marketing pop-ups + e-mail Campaigns
    - How to use magento
    - How to tweak ui/ux features
    - How to manage SEM/SEO

    The list really goes on!

(Just a disclaimer but t I was only able to learn this because of my initiatives, and if you have your own initiatives, then the same opportunities can be found here for you too)

Ooh, and there's always beer and pizza's after every monthly meeting!

    Cons

    The Current Cons:

    - Sometimes there's no more milk left in the fridge for coffee
    - If you can't work independently or lack the experience to problem solve on your own, you may struggle.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good momentum and positive vibes!
Pay closer attention to employee attitudes and morale.

    Pros

Good for learning (on your own) some business (mostly what not to do) and for learning to work in a multicultural workplace

    Cons

Too many to think of. Poor salaries, almost no benefits (getting _slightly_ better), poor upper management, no information sharing, wannabe startup without a startup culture.
