I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits package- 5+10 match pension, private healthcare for you and family (additional), maternity pay, share reward scheme, people, flexible working,

    Cons

Slow pace of change, not enough technical resource to support change programs, bottle necks at site, depending on your function- management lack soft skills, uninterested in development and learning- more tick box exercise. Red tape.

    Advice to Management

Soft skills go a long way, stop overloading us with tick box e-learning, better resource quality/ technical functions to facilitate changes! Stop introducing red tape into every process. Improve financial reporting.

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, great products, industry leading, innovative, great pipeline, values-driven, customer centric, respectful workplace, great culture, fairly strong empowerment to run our business strategically within appropriate guard rails.

    Cons

Behavior based selling model impedes potential for significant growth & sales professional accountability, and misaligns incentives around demonstrating behaviors vs. making sales. To some degree, the company is also focused on metrics (reach, frequency, # of calls, etc.) and wanting leaders to hold teams accountable to those things because we aren't allowed to incentivize sales performance below a regional level due to the Corporate Integrity Agreement GSK is in with the OIG.

    Advice to Management

Align incentives to be a combination of values-based behaviors and sales performance down to the territory level.

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time

    Pros

pay, vacation, benefits are all top notch but there is not much room to grow. Base is good but can't get much more than the target bonus.

    Cons

micro-managing can be a bit of a problem. The little bit of freedom can be taken away by constant calling and questions.

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time

    Pros

They offer great pay at competitive rates and allow for relatively quick advancement opportunities! Working schedules are also flexible and are subject to a lot of employee input.

    Cons

Policies are rapidly changing to keep up with a dynamic world and company which can cause stress both at work and at home.

    Advice to Management

Try to give when you can to allow employees to continue to feel like a part of the GSK family.
