    Pros

Large Company with generous salary. Excellent facilities and a host of nationalities working together. Looked after and various departments to explore and further your career

    Cons

Overlooked for progression, Inhouse agency recruitment but not overly supportive or approachable. Limited training in particular areas, quick change in working direction with short contract and not much in permanent opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Train staff accordingly, announcements to be made sooner to allow time for moving into new areas.

    Pros

One of the best companies I have ever worked for

    Cons

Employs younger and less experienced marketers and leaders who are not in the post for long and move on to other roles. This has made the company less influential in the market with its customers.

    Advice to Management

Need to bring back the balance again - youth and Experience

I worked at GlaxoSmithKline as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

They were very flixible in managing my degree as well as working for them

Good experience as a chemical engineer

    Cons

Location was poor for social life

I applied to a pharmaceutical copany and ony worked at a very small food production site which was not a great representation of much of the company

    Advice to Management

Ask about the university requirements early in the placement. This avoids any confusion about what the university and the company expect from the placement year.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Improving the quality of peoples lives by producing world class pharmaceuticals allowing them to do more, feel better and live longer

    Cons

Some of the tasks can be laborious and repetitive while others can be very stressful. In my opinion there is very little training with limited progression opportunities. Operators become pigeon holed into doing one task all the time unless your face fits. Blue eyed boy syndrome is prevalent throughout the factory.

    Advice to Management

    Start listening to your operators.
