I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very clear aims and objectives for individual employees, great structure for planned development

    Cons

Some hugely inept middle management with shockingly poor people skills.

    Advice to Management

Cut out the under performing middle management who add practically zero value in their role, except putting already extremely hard working analysts under more pressure

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A very fun and rewarding career if you like computers, your mentor guides you through it but lets you do more than enough yourself so you learn on the job and gain valuable skills and experience.

    Cons

Set locations throughout the UK, so you have to live quite close to your place of work.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps raise apprentice salary, as for young independent apprentices like myself living costs quickly build up and although the wage is very good for an apprentice it's barely enough to survive.

I worked at GlaxoSmithKline as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experience to work in a multinational corporation whilst studying at University. I got to work on big projects that impacted various stakeholders. The IP community is large which provided a great network of friends.

    Cons

The salary is too low if you are living in London as the IP salary doesn't vary as per what location you are based at. You are also hired as contract workers to external companies who weren't easy to work with at times.
